@0robor0s Not a bad point, but also making him a Warlord allowed him the cover to go after Pluton. In a slightly different world it could have led to it being restored (and likely ending up in Kaido’s hands) only Doflamingo is a worse warlord imo

Making croc a warlord was one of the marines greatest strategic moves. He never moved further in the gl and learned haki, they helped enable his stagnation, he was a real demon and they clipped his wings. He would have been a big big problem.

@lfjncl9891 i do see your point about pluton being more of the crutch and i do agree with that. but i still think the warlord title across the board did stifle the ambitions of all the original members, and that was intended by the wg.

@0robor0s He went after Pluton, him becoming a warlord was a part of that plan, he himself is the reason he never returned to paradise, he was too afraid We are just disagreeing on what the easy way is, the easy way was going after Pluton not becoming a warlord

@lfjncl9891 yeah but i'm talking about the things that stopped him from getting back up after being knocked down, and his evasive personality would have seen the his position as a warlord as an easy opportunity to not use will to power through.

@0robor0s Its quite obvious, he got the shanks vs kids treatment(first time) and he went back running to paradise instead of toughing it out in the new world like kidd did. Moria is a more explicit version of this

@lfjncl9891 do you actually think he was after pluton on purely account of wb? i think it's a perfectly fair assessment to consider that warlord title played a role in leaving him unchallenged enough that he didn't seek growth. i don't discount his personal faults in it.

@0robor0s Croc himself gave up, he got broken by white beard and then ran and sought an alternative way to win(pluton), the marines didnt play a role except having a cover up for why he was in alabasta

@HimWeneed i think part of it now is that the great pirate era was in decline bc those kind of power structures were settled in. we just don't hear of any one coming up after the worst gen, even though those barriers are kind of gone now. the whole shape of the world is kind of different.

@HimWeneed i don't know about loyal, but they are probably the ones closest to traditional privateers and the ones the wg benefit most from redirecting their aim toward other pirates.

@0robor0s I always felt croc and mihawk were the most loyal WG allied guys, I assume that's why they are the front men for cross guild

i think this is why his reaction being hidden at rogers execution is so smart and why him now being paired up with buggy is beyond genius and hilarious, it's impossible to ignore the reality of the men behind the legend but still i wonder if he gets swept up in it a little.

i'm also obsessed with the way crocodile believes in myth and legends of men, i think that's why he is considered a gullible person. this is why wb says that he is only human, why croc staked so much on reputation in alabasta, he might have even believed the propaganda on robin
