GM from the past, I'm writing this on February 23rd and I'm scheduling this tweet about Build Games for April 2nd! I was just laughed at in the Telegram chat for asking how gamefi ponzis fit in to Build Games, so that has given me enough info to make a prediction on what the winners will look like! I assume they have been announced or will be announced soon. I got accepted to the program as well, so hopefully I don't end up getting money as there is almost no way I remember to stop this tweet from sending! Grand Prize ($100k): This goes to a project tokenizing something that nobody cares about on a new L1. Everyone will praise it as being a sustainable business. Nobody will use it or care. Possibly we can't even use it. Maybe something businessy like "putting office space leases on chain." Runner Up ($75k): This will go to some tech slop. Maybe a service for L1s. Possibly a plug and play DEX or explorer that new L1s can spin up themselves easily and for cheap. Probably nobody will use it as L1 demand is still lacking, but they will likely partner with the Grotto in some way so we will begrudgingly accept them. Third ($50k): This will go to something capitalizing on a hype trend. Likely AI or prediction related. It will either be a worse version of an existing project, or a take on it that nobody asked for or wants. Probably employees will tweet about it for a month or two afterwards in the hopes of getting people to use it but it won't catch on. Category Prizes (?): These will mostly go to people we don't know. There will likely be a few projects that gain traction here but the majority will either be abandoned or never take off. There will be 5-10 community members that get $5k grants here as an attempt to stop people from having an overwhelmingly negative reaction. Wrath may get something like $20k, and Andy $10k as they try to prop them up as the token "community supported" projects. Public facing employees will point to the 5-10% of the prizepool going to community members as a huge success and wonder why people are unhappy. Community will be unhappy because they will point to the other 95% of the prizepool, particularly the winners, and point out that it's the same shit that always happens with these programs. How did I do????
