Bitcoin is long-term money. The infrastructure around it should be built with the same timeline. Not later. Now. 🔶

Bittensor dTAO change thoughts: So many short sighted things are coming in just to stop a tiny handful of bad actors. Big hammers to nail tiny nobs, but the big hammer hurts others. Limiting the amount of websites for the internet to 128 sites would have been a dumb move. And I think the same for subnets too. I've gone 180 on this, as the last 9 months I've been a fan of this 128 cap as we need to focus pressure to getting as many subnets firing as possible. But I have a different take now... 1.) The cap needs to immediately lift to 150. The subnet reg cost is simply ridiculous. Lifting cap will drop that reg cost. 2.) Then the price of a subnet needs to be fixed to like $25-50k. So the barrier to entry is still there and we don't turn into a subnet pumpfun. But it means talented builders can get going without giving away 10-50% of the pie to subnet VCs like me. Yes this shoots me in the foot, but it's the best thing for Bittensor. The reason we have to take a chunk of the pie is because funding a new subnet + cash runway costs us like $250-300k a pop! Higher reg costs forces subnet creation to money men. 3.) Then the cap needs to be dynamically linked with TAO price. As TAO price goes up, the subnet cap rises and acts like a watermark. When TAO price goes down, the cap stays where it was. 4.) Dereg still needs to happen. This is part of the essence of Bittensor. Everyone needs the threat of pruning. Owners, miners and Valis. With the above in place, the current cadence of deregs is fine. It could maybe be made slightly faster. 5.) Get rid of subnet shorting out of our consciousness. This will only enable massive negative whales to have more power to bonk subnets they don't like. BUT, if all the above is implemented, it defangs the shorting a bit, because if a good team gets unfairly bonked, they can spin up a new slot. 6.) I'm personally not a fan of conviction. Owners are hampered by liquidity as it is. But I understand why it's being done. It's going to lead to a whole lot of subnet owner virtue signalling! 7.) I've been saying for a good 6 months now that the subnet reg cost should not be recycled and should go into the pool as new subs are hindered by low liquidity. So I was pleased to see this change happen, but using the medium sum of alpha to calculate that alpha/tao split is not good thinking in my opinion. That median is heavily influenced by the top 5 subnets! Whereas pretty much all subnets range between 0.004 to 0.008T. So now, (like with SN84), they start with a massive price of like 0.01, but for the first 4 months, due to root prop, they are just going to slide down and down towards 0.004. - And finally the pool injections. There is ZERO reason why any big subnet needs more injections! I mean you could buy 1000T of Chutes right now and it wouldn't even touch the sides! So I think once a pool gets to a depth of 50k TAO, we should consider that subnet as "Graduated" and is no longer eligible for pool injections. This would then free up a bucket load of TAO to be injected to other subnets. Right...rant over 😂

@SiamKidd the part about talented builders giving away 10 50% to subnet VCs is so real. lower barriers would let actual AGI teams cook without begging for capital. seen @SentientAGI doing similar where builders keep ownership of models and get paid.

Cloudflare $NET says AI agents can now create accounts, start paid subscriptions, buy domains, and deploy apps for users through a new protocol built with Stripe. Users still approve access and accept terms, but the rest of the flow can run end to end.
