🚨 New Feature: My Pets 🚨 I've just pushed out the My Pets feature on the Milk Minder app for @Pizza_Pets. It allows you to enter one or more wallets and get a sortable, tabular view of all the important stats for each pet, including blocks until death and next health loss. 🧵

I’ll share a small part of pickle.com Back in med school, I became obsessed with augmenting memory and dreamed of a Notion or Obsidian that completes itself. Today, we’ve built something close. My self-awareness is sharper and everything feels connected. I genuinely believe AI does not replace humans. It amplifies us. Huge respect to our engineers and designers who made this crazy thing real. Bubbles are the episodic units of my life that the system interprets from my raw data. Clouds are the system’s questions, its hypotheses about who I am. When I answer a cloud, it becomes a bubble again. There is so much personal data that I cannot fully demo it. Wish I could. This system understands me more deeply than anyone. Want to try it? Retweet and comment “memory.” I’ll DM you an access code to skip the waitlist.

@mattgeik @JesseRogersESPN They tried to sac bunt with Happ in the 8th. He fouled both attempts off. Then the runners moved up to 2nd and 3rd on a gift wild pitch. Then Happ struck out on a pitch put of the zone anyways. This team cannot execute on anything right now.

@JesseRogersESPN What happened w/ creative offense from early in the season? Why not use the bunt, push it on the steals more? Even TOR just did it in the 8th & they had the lead! I don’t understand that. Guys will slump & this sucks. But what are they doing about it?

And the basbeall gods might be sending Craig Counsell a message: Their hottest hitter -- Matt Shaw (1.100 OPS since the break) was left on-deck to end the game. The only hitter in the lineup who didn't get 4 PA's.
Jesse Rogers@JesseRogersESPN

The Cubs are going through something at the plate. Today's 8th inning sums it up: Down 2-1 with 2nd and 3rd and no outs, the next 3 batters -- Ian Happ, Kyle Tucker and Carson Kelly -- all strike out. Ball game. Vlad homer the difference. Cubs 23rd in OPS since the break.

I'm saying if you pick up another elite arm that is as good as or better than Keller, then you have the luxury of using him in the 7th, new elite arm in the 8th, Palencia in the 9th. Or just Keller in the 8th one game and new elite arm in the 8th the next day. Again, I never said our 8th inning guy isn't good. He's been great outside of a couple clunkers. But our bullpen had an ERA over 6.00 in July and has faltered in almost every game since the trade deadline in the 7th and 8th innings. The Cubs were supposed to be all-in at the trade deadline and the cost for controllable starters was too high, so they just decided not to be all-in instead of making an impact trade in another area of need.

@0xBGoat @JesseRogersESPN Keller is the go to guy for the 8th. If you think the cubs need an elite arm for those innings, and you’re saying our 8th inning guy isn’t good, what problem does it solve pushing Keller down. He pitches the 8th for the majority in games are trying to close out

Jed Hoyer: "From a SP standpoint, it was a really tight market. Very few rental starters. Of the marquee controllable starters, none of them changed hands. We didn’t acquire them but no one else did either. We felt the asking price was something we couldn’t do to the future.”

Where did I ever say Keller was the problem? I said the 8th inning has been a major issue and provided data that supports this. Keller does not pitch the 8th every game and even he has had a couple of blowups in the 8th. Outsider of Keller, they have no good options for the 8th. If he isn't available because he threw a lot of pitches the previous day, they are left with bad options. They could have addressed this at the deadline but they didn't. Not sure why you are defending that decision.

@Aflinne99 @JesseRogersESPN You really don't understand how picking up one of those guys would push Keller and Palencia down to the 7th and 8th? As for my original post, 3rd worst team in baseball for runs allowed in the 8th inning. Kittredge and Rogers do nothing to address that.

@0xBGoat @JesseRogersESPN Has it? Last I checked, cubs have Brad Keller. Whose ERA should be lower if a competent manager cared enough to pull him sometimes. Hodge still in AAA as well. Bullpen is fine

@RefuseToLosePod LOL, that's a good way to undercut the awesome trades for Naylor and Suarez I suppose. Sign the guy that just gave up a grand slam to Andrew Vaughn and gave up 9 runs in the 10th inning against the Giants earlier this year. Run far way from Pressly and don't discount his blowups

@natelargent @thekapman @Cubs @YouTube Yeah I saw, and I am genuinely afraid of those bullpens now. High leverage arms win you titles and while the cost for Duran and Miller was huge, Bednar and Jax were more reasonable. Do you think any teams are afraid of Brad Keller? Kittredge? Rogers?

@natelargent @thekapman @Cubs @YouTube He doesn't blame them for not overpaying for controllable SP. But the Cubs have the 5th worst ERA in the 8th inning and they decided not to pick up Miller, Duran, Jax, Bednar and several other high impact BP arms? Inexcusable.

@thekapman @Cubs @YouTube I totally agree with this take. If the controllable SP market was unreasonable, then you have to pivot to impact adds in the bullpen. Kittredge and Rogers are bargain bin, spray and pray attempts to address the 8th inning woes of the Cubs bullpen. 5th worst ERA in MLB in the 8th.

@BleacherNation If the ask for controllable SP was too high, they should have pivoted to getting one of the big bullpen arms to pair with Palencia. Mason Miller, Duran, Jax, Bednar were all traded. Cubs have struggled mightily with allowing runs in the 8th inning this year! (5th most in MLB)
