My father passed when I was 22. He left me everything - not money. Information. Every FD. Every MF folio. Every insurance policy. A Google Sheet. Passwords. Account numbers. The contact of his offline broker in Jaipur.

@thefynprint covered my story & built a guide on what to do while you still can. If there's one financial thing I'd ask of you: Talk to your father about money before you have to figure it out without him. It won't be easy to bring up. It'll be harder once you can't.

I've moved cities. The process hasn't moved an inch. I can't imagine what others go through. I have heard stories, we all have. Best case: branch visits, appointments in government offices and a never ending list of documents. Worst case: years of court battles.

After a year of literally moving my life to @obsdmd. My work and notes used to be split between Notion, Google Keep and multiple other apps. Painstakingly moved everything to Obsidian and also got paid for the 'Sync' plan. Life's never been better.
