Added a banked reset to 500k users of ChatGPT Work and Codex. What’s been happening: - Just released the ability to use a banked reset from web and mobile. Before today you could only do it in the desktop app - Had an issue where less than 10% of users who used a banked reset and it didn’t actually reset. This was during a 2 hour window. - It was hard to find all the exact users where it didn’t apply, so instead granted a banked reset to everyone who pressed the reset button in that 2 hour window. This also gives us the opportunity to validate the new infra ahead of tomorrow Tomorrow we will celebrate our 7M active users milestone and grant the first banked reset across all of our ChatGPT Work and Codex users. We will also release a bunch of updates to the desktop app, addressing a ton of your feedback. Talk soon

@abraibrai @xt0n1t3ch @thsottiaux Thanks, that makes sense. Maybe I didn't see the other reset because I had just applied one of the banked ones and so it didn't do anything for me. I'm pretty far into the Goal so I don't want to kill it now. I still have the last reset and Claude to fall back on if I have to.

Morning. The last 48 hours of Codex and ChatGPT Work have been intense! Three important updates: - Temporarily removing the 5 hour usage limit restriction for all Plus, Business and Pro plans - Rolling out changes that will make GPT 5.6 Sol more efficient across the board and that will be reflected in less usage being used so that it can take you further. Exact impact to be quantified and shared - We hit 6M active users, and are landing a usage reset in the next hour Go do things

@ZacksJerryRig 64°-81° is the optimum operating temperature range for a DC, so I bloody hope they are already.

I fully support keeping the thermostat set at 78°..... as long as the data centers do it first.

@Smallzero @0xDoubleSharp @sama i wouldnt. im working on a security sensitive project and fable missed so many things that sol was able to find. fable was working through its 5th audit with diminishing amount of issues surfacing, sol did one pass and found a crazy amount fable missed.

there are a lot of benchmarks that suggest 5.6 sol is the best model in the world right now, but the most reliable way to tell is that elon is obsessed with me again

@Smallzero @imrobertmine @sama Not true - I have a skill for Codex to used Claude, and another one for Claude to use Codex. It works pretty well in both directions, but overall I prefer Codex for the agentic side and using it to call Claude for reviews.

@Smallzero @imrobertmine @sama I've got GPT 5.6 Sol High fixing things and then asking Fable 5 for a review with `claude -p` but you have to remind Codex that Claude can be slow and to wait a bit and not kill it... but it's definitely a complementary process.

@DunkingSquirrel I guess the same reasons you've argued for decentralization 😂 - Single point of failure - Not censorship resistant - Privileged transaction ordering - Oracles are unproven in the ZK circuits You're right that not many care, and the design is reasonable, but not cypherpunk.

@0xDoubleSharp I don’t see an issue with centralized sequencers. Do you? I think crypto has evolved a ton in the last 2 years and people just want UX > decentralization

@thsottiaux Managed to crush my 5 hour limit & impressed so far! I tried falling back to 5.3 Codex Spark in the latest version of the app, but get this error for new and existing sessions. > Unsupported parameter: 'reasoning.summary' is not supported with the 'gpt-5.3-codex-spark' model.

Today, the OpenAI product and engineering team is humming, there is so much to coordinate and keep running across the release of GPT 5.6 Sol/Terra/Luna, ChatGPT Work, the new ChatGPT desktop app, hosted sites and a million other things... together with the new ChatGPT Voice just launched yesterday. We will not get it all right, give us feedback and we will iterate quickly. Thank you for being an amazing community.
