For anyone who doesn’t know, here are the Big 4 accounting firms:
1. Deloitte
2. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)
3. Ernst & Young (EY)
4. KPMG
They’re global firms with active offices in Nigeria.
Now, for the Big 5 law firms in Nigeria, we have:
1. Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie (UUBO)
2. Banwo & Ighodalo
3. Aluko & Oyebode
4. Templars
5. Olaniwun Ajayi LP
Unlike the Big 4 in accounting, the “Big 5” label isn’t formally standardized in Nigeria’s legal space.
However, these firms are widely regarded as the top-tier players in commercial law.
You’ll also sometimes see G. Elias & Co. included, depending on the ranking criteria.
If helpful, I can put together a list of top commercial law firms in Nigeria, with their HR emails. Just let me know in the comments, and I’ll get on it.

Exposure is so underrated. There's Nigerian accounting undergrads who don't know the Big 4 exist.

@javarobot @mactoni91 @chowdeck Yessss chowdeck would hike price for weather 🤣
I now go to the physical store nowadays, it dont spend 2 mins to get there via transport. Same streeet!
English

@mactoni91 @0xEmm @chowdeck I left those apps a long time ago. Most businesses don’t like being honest and modest. I’d rather take public transport to the store to get myself the item. Have you tried ordering on a “bad weather” day? Lol.
English

There’s a growing fraud being quietly perpetuated by @chowdeck and honestly, not enough people are talking about it.
Because how does 30% of ₦16,000 suddenly become ₦14,000? Make it make sense.
These charges are starting to feel completely arbitrary. No clear breakdown, no transparency, just inflated totals that don’t add up mathematically or logically.
And don’t even get me started on #chowmart .
You’re advertising a subscription that covers stores on #Chowmart and offers free delivery, but somehow a major store like @item7go_ Go which is clearly listed is suddenly not available under #Chowmart in my location even though it’s less than 15 minutes from Allen.
Then out of nowhere, you’re slapping ₦3,500 delivery fee for a trip that shouldn’t even cost half of that.
At this point, it’s not just inconvenience it’s looking outrageous and borderline fraudulent.
People need to start asking questions.

Investment banking is not for newbies.
I have a friend who work with FSDH, he says it takes them years to close one deal.
Early last year, he said their investment banker closed a deal that almost surpassed the banks 50% annual budget.
Investment banking is not about advising someone to buy stocks or put money into one investment or the other. That’s not investment banking.
Can you champion a merger between two companies?
Can you work on a ₦100B bond issuance?
Can you oversee the structuring of multi-billion naira transaction deal between two corporates?
Investment banking is chaired by senior level bankers and top management executives.

Many of you do not have a reason for wanting Investment Banking. Clearly Bandwagon effect.

If we had money as a club, Fermin is not our level. He has flashes once and again, but he is Real Betis level. He should never be playing for us.
He never shows class, cannot pass properly, cannot make dribbles, just running with his head down and looking to statpad.
Problem is that his brother Olmo, is almost equally useless

I want to share a story. I have probably only told one or two people before.
It was 2019. I was building Nord, I owned 100% at this time, and I had to go to China because some of our important suppliers needed to see me and discuss the way forward. I had spent months selling my dream to them, yet there was still no significant order. I had to fly to China to buy more time. However, I did not have enough money. I was very low on cash. Yet I knew that if I did not go on that trip, the suppliers would see me as unserious and the company would slowly just collapse.
I have a good friend who has always been inspired by what I do and my accomplishments. He expressed interest in investing in Nord and I suggested that we visit the suppliers in China together. My plan was simple. I would pay for my flight and we would share a room where he would cover most of the room cost, while I showed him what we could do with our supply chain.
He lives in London and I live in Nigeria. We were supposed to fly and land almost at the same time, although he was scheduled to arrive a few hours before me.
A few hours before his flight, he called me to say he could not make it because of a logistical mix up. He told me last year, in 2025, that he actually had a serious medical emergency and might have died if he had not been in the UK where he was comfortable and had access to care.
At the time, I did not know this. He did not tell me it was that serious. I simply felt he had abandoned me once the scale of the investment became obvious to him. Still, I was kind on the phone and told him it was okay. He remembered that.
My already difficult but important trip suddenly became much more difficult, but I knew I still had to go.
I flew to China and landed alone.
We had initially planned to stay in a $100 per night room which we would share. Of course, I could not stay in a $100 per night room with my budget anymore, so I told my Chinese partner and friend to find me a really cheap hotel that was still close to town.
He took me to one hotel that had a horrible smell. It was going for $25 per night. I was going to take it until I saw that the toilet was a pit toilet.
I said, “No, e never bad like this.”
I asked him to find me a hotel with a normal toilet. He took me to another one. The smell was ok, it looked neat, and it had a normal WC. It was $40 per night. I took it.
I stayed a few days in Guangzhou, then took trains to other cities where my suppliers were located, staying in hotels that cost about $35 to $40 per night.
A few days before my return, I had to visit an important supplier in a city that required a flight. I had to call Nigeria and asked that they send me some change I put somewhere. I think about $150 was sent through Western U. I used it to buy the flight ticket, attended the meeting, and then returned to Guangzhou for the last two days.
When I landed back in Guangzhou, I had almost no money left. I probably had the equivalent of about $5. It could not buy anything meaningful, but I kept it just to convince myself mentally that I was not completely at zero.
Psychologically, I was very low.
The hotel had complimentary breakfast. That was what I would eat in the morning, and then I would go the entire day without eating. I would drink water all day and go for my meetings while my Chinese friend drove me around.
He did not know I was that low on cash.
Some days we would get complimentary lunch from the suppliers we visited. On other days, we did not.
I just maintained an outward positive attitude even though I was tired and hungry, honestly I was just waiting for the day of my flight so I could finally return to Nigeria.
On the day of the flight, my friend found a way to get me to the airport (that is a story for another day, as that was the day he suspected I was really low on cash).
As usual, I had eaten only breakfast, and the flight was at 00:50 am. I was hungry and tired, I could not buy anything while we waited to board.

@Still_Njionye @JbrandyOfficial Raymond doesn't need to break out ...he is will work out of that place through the front door and the cops can't do anything than to look
English

@JbrandyOfficial Raymond was a very good strategist
Scofield was a detailed planner
They're not the same
If you put Scofield and Raymond in a prison,
Scofield has more likelihood of having a successful escape
But Raymond would know this, and he'd befriend Scofield
There's a balance
English

Raymond was the most wanted man alive, he was wanted in every country in the world and No 1 in the FBI wanted list for over 20 years, he came back home to the FBI and was still granted immunity and represented himself in court, scofield go tear ACL.

One time, my mum travelled for a burial ceremony. She was meant to stay for three days because it was her close friend that was mourning. But something came up . she called my dad and informed him that she would have to stay an extra day. Man was livid and told her to remain there.
That’s exactly what she did . She called and told us that our dad said she shouldn’t return . She stayed for two more days and my dad had to travel to bring her back. mind you, he had never been to the place before. He even had to ask her for directions which she sent via text.
When they came home, the first thing she said was “ I’m backkk”

I won’t be surprised if this PayPal thing na paid gig sponsored by traditional African financial institutions that are about being kept on their toes when a worthy competitor is coming into the picture.

PayPal suspended my account when I had a chance at making $5k/m from E-commerce. They asked me to refund clients money and I couldn’t fulfill over 50+ orders. There was nothing else I could do as at that time in 2021. Just regrets and insane hatred for PayPal.
