Web server costs got so cheap that we got used to "web app does its thing" costing ~$0 marginal cost.
AI tools burning GPUs have shifted that backward and this wave of web apps now has meaningful marginal cost again. What opportunities does that present? 🤔

Bitcoin is inflationary. Ethereum will always have new issuance.
Networks need new issuance that rewards active participation over passive holding.

I still believe in crypto & web3, but I am starting to think that deflationary economics built around immutable scarcity is a bad idea that distorts incentives & makes everything else about the technology impractical.

It’s an absolute brilliant move.
They’re the biggest centralized exchange in the US. If you wanted to do anything interesting you had to withdraw off their platform. Which means losing customers. Now they have their own low cost chain to funnel users into.

Around 6 months ago our team took a risk and bought 50 seals so that we could provide liquidity for our own @sudoswap pool.
We have since generated around $50K in fees (royalties) and have also just received a free $20K airdrop for doing so.
Alternate revenue streams exist.

We’re making some big changes today:
1) OpenSea fee → 0% for a limited time
2) Moving to optional creator earnings (0.5% min) for all collections without on-chain enforcement (old & new)
3) Marketplaces with the same policies will not be blocked by the operator filter

Am I missing something or does it seem inevitable that nft marketplace trading fees will eventually be zero?
Whereas dexes can have deep liquidity moats in the form of staked capital/liquidity that might allow them to extract rents, nft marketplaces have no enduring moat.
