We had load shedding from 22:00-00:30, then 02:00-06:30. No electricity for 7 out of 8.5 hours. How many homes were burgled? How many sick people couldn’t use their medical devices? How many mothers couldn’t warm their babies’ bottles throughout the night? How many late shift workers couldn’t enjoy a warm plate of food before going to bed? How many South Africans had a cold shower and couldn’t even have a cup of coffee before leaving home? How many parents had to get their children ready for school in the dark, with no heat (was 5 degrees this morning)? Yet Cyril says you must see this in a positive light.
