Markets with real stakes are structurally resistant to manipulation. In prediction markets, participants are exposed to direct PnL, making sustained price distortion costly. Any attempt to push odds away from fair value creates immediate arbitrage opportunities, drawing in informed capital that compresses mispricing. Perps as Collateral: a brief history about the beginning of Onyx. Onyx started as a new primitive for perp traders. Initially, the idea spawned from the novelty of @HyperliquidX's hypercore and hyperEVM compatibility. The idea was simple, traders that have large uPnL on perp positions may want to unlock that capital without sizing down, using their perp positions as collateral they can borrow capital against their position without closing. The Onyx team was excited by the idea and immediately got to work. We were able to get a proof of concept within 2 weeks. Now came the hard part; what does a product for perps as collateral look like and how will people use it? After deliberating on this idea for another week, we had a eureka moment, since the perps as collateral PoC relied on a novel margin system, we thought building a terminal around a novel unified margin system made the most sense, and would be high impact since we could build additional features in directly accessible to users. So we did just that, we built a pro terminal from the ground up with a Unified Margin Layer. Sounds great, now what? Well we have the margin layer, so we thought of novel ways it could be used beyond perps as collateral. To our great surprise there are a plethora of products that users need that can be enabled by our margin system. This has materialized a slew of product offerings -> Multi-asset margin -> Boosted leveraged perp pairs -> Cross venue collateralized positions and much more! Once we realized we struck gold, we then began to break down the feature set and build it into the system Onyx is far from being feature complete, but what we have currently is already far superior and far more advanced than any other margin system and terminal currently in market. We plan to have a private beta general release within the next several weeks, and could not be more excited to offer this to every trader in crypto and beyond. Its only the beginning! gOnyx!

Excited to finally bring what we have been working on to light. As many of you may know the @sentimentxyz team and I have spent the greater part of the year building lending markets on @HyperliquidX. Through this, we discovered there is a better way to for us to express the thesis of how users value onchain leverage. When @ruvaag founded @sentimentxyz we initially set out to solve a problem we faced personally, which was not having sufficient access to leverage to take advantage of onchain opportunties. The space has matured a lot since then, and accessing additional capital has become more efficient over time. Since then we built 2 lending products, in 2 ecosystems, amassed over 100M tvl collectively and serviced nearly a quarter billion in loans all together. But as always, jobs not finished. Whilst seeing the landscape evolve, we once again took stock of what has been built and looked ahead to what needs to be built to service the growing demand of traders and growing space of onchain opportunities. It became clear to us that 2 trends will continue to grow: 1. All assets and financial instruments will move onchain 2. Traders in crypto will not exclusively trade crypto, but will take any trade that can efficiently express their bias Understanding this, we envisioned a world where any trader can access any market or instrument all from a unified interface and margin engine. Thus we began building @tradewithOnyx Onyx is a pro trading terminal where any trader can trade any asset, at any time.
