@eggmunton Yes, you definitely need Ethereum to perform a swap on the Ethereum chain via Uniswap, but afterwards you can simply send Ethereum to that contract address. So in principle, you wouldn’t need any additional Ethereum anymore to do that bridge to Ethereum.

@0xSnipp0 But once you have sent the SPX through wormhole to an eth wallet, you will also need eth so you can make transactions in the future right? Or have they changed this?

I’ve bridged my SPX6900 tokens from Solana to Ethereum(via phantom) based on recommendations I saw on YouTube and Twitter. I still hold the same SPX exposure, just on the Ethereum network now. Can anyone explain why this bridge is considered so important in the first place?

@eggmunton You don’t need ETH just sol to bridge everything and it’s not much

@0xSnipp0 How much eth do you need in your wallet to do the bridge from Solana to Ethereum? And how much do you need to leave in your wallet in case you need to move it in the future, coming from a Solana background We never have to think about this stuff. But I want to do it too.

@eggmunton Yes it takes several minutes but test first with couple of tokens

@0xSnipp0 Also, it’s not instant on ETH right? There is some kind of waiting period, is it like a few minutes? I feel like it will be a bit stressful. I used it when it first came out years ago, 2017 2018 I was using it as well. It was always quite stressful to be honest.

@0xSnipp0 Simple answer is that the Wormhole is less secure (could be hacked more easily) than holding on ETH.

@victor_malet What about usdc yield on Lulo.fi?

@0xSnipp0 Thats the safest way. Do not intereact with anything on your ledger. No nfts, no staking, no claim, nothing And youll be safe

@victor_malet I’ve bridged everything from sol to ETH so I guess I’m safe. They are now on ETH on my ledger so they are really mine 😀

@0xSnipp0 Its a third party risk : im gonna overexagerate but if there is any problem with wormhole bridge or anything related to it , you dont own spx6900 on eth and could not claim it on ethereum chain --> you could lose it all
