i really wish the codex app was open source, so many small tweaks i want to make to it to better suit my workflow genuinely really well made piece of software it feels so smooth, i was unfamiliar with openai's game

how do people use devboxes and codex. I want the nice app where I can paste images, and I want to be able to use my phone, but it ssh’ing into my devbox with every command slows things down a bunch

introducing codex-web. i love codex desktop. i wanted to use it on mobile to monitor and steer long running agents so i built codex web. codex web is a thin wrapper around the upstream codex desktop app. it splits the app into two parts: one which runs on a server (anywhere were node and codex cli run) and one which runs in the browser. i use it every day and it's increased the set of tasks i'm able to achieve with just my phone and a cell connection. try it out here github.com/0xcaff/codex-w…

@tonitrades_ the idea with this model is it's so easy to update agents can almost completely do it on their own

@0xcaff wonder how long before codex desktop adds native mobile support wrapping a moving target is risky when the target might ship exactly what you just built.

@realmattfusco apparently i tried this a few months back but guess was in the middle of deserting iOS at the time (not programmable enough). can't sideload from codex jit built apps on iOS too much friction.
