Yesterday was my first day at @OpenAI working under the amazing @romainhuet.
I've spent the better part of two years pushing the frontier of having models write code for you, shipping updates week after week for @RepoPrompt.
Transitioning from being a founder is never easy, especially when you have a community of amazing developers who invested so much in your tool.
Thankfully Romain worked hard to ensure that all those users would be taken care in the process, and if you're one such user, you should have an email waiting in your inbox with the details!
I'm very excited to be joining this talented team and work alongside everyone at OpenAI contributing to codex.

We rebuilt Next.js in a week. No, really.
The team ported the framework to run natively on Workers to prove what’s possible with edge-first architecture. Dive into the technical hurdles we solved to eliminate Node.js dependencies.

I'm joining @OpenAI to bring agents to everyone. @OpenClaw is becoming a foundation: open, independent, and just getting started.🦞

men, 2026 is the time to get our shit together. the modern world has made human slop of us. fertility rates are down 62%. metabolic disease afflicts 35%. obesity has hit 40%. 63% are not having sex weekly. testosterone is dropping 1% every year. 42% over forty have erectile dysfunction. sexlessness has doubled to 24%. enough. fucking enough.
reject fast food, junk food, vaping, gambling, porn, nicotine, sleep deprivation, phone addiction, and excessive scrolling. these are your enemies. this is dopamine extraction. they are mining you for profit and leaving you weak and miserable. they are predators and you are their prey.
no, not just this once. no, not in moderation. no, it’s not living life. it’s suicidal and deranged behavior.
sleep. get jacked. eat well. set limits. be consistent. build the schedule. put on autopilot. don’t let your mind rationalize. replace inner weakness with systems strength.
don’t listen to other people’s criticisms. they’re projecting their own stuff onto you. straighten up. let it roll off of you. be great. be unabashedily you. maintain friendships with those who make you better. who inspires you to be your best self. do not continue to hang out with people who encourage debauchery.
maintain good posture. stand tall. get up from your desk and walk around, stretch, do light exercises.
do these things to reclaim your self respect. be a sovereign person. do not be owned by evil companies or influence. do not listen to the critics. build your life systems. make them habits. don’t let yourself talk you out of it. as you gain strength, it will require less energy to maintain.

New on our Frontier Red Team blog: We tested whether AIs can exploit blockchain smart contracts.
In simulated testing, AI agents found $4.6M in exploits.
The research (with @MATSprogram and the Anthropic Fellows program) also developed a new benchmark: red.anthropic.com/2025/smart-con…

I’m turning 41, but I don’t feel like celebrating.
Our generation is running out of time to save the free Internet built for us by our fathers.
What was once the promise of the free exchange of information is being turned into the ultimate tool of control.
Once-free countries are introducing dystopian measures such as digital IDs (UK), online age checks (Australia), and mass scanning of private messages (EU).
Germany is persecuting anyone who dares to criticize officials on the Internet. The UK is imprisoning thousands for their tweets. France is criminally investigating tech leaders who defend freedom and privacy.
A dark, dystopian world is approaching fast — while we’re asleep. Our generation risks going down in history as the last one that had freedoms — and allowed them to be taken away.
We’ve been fed a lie.
We’ve been made to believe that the greatest fight of our generation is to destroy everything our forefathers left us: tradition, privacy, sovereignty, the free market, and free speech.
By betraying the legacy of our ancestors, we’ve set ourselves on a path toward self-destruction — moral, intellectual, economic, and ultimately biological.
So no, I’m not going to celebrate today. I’m running out of time. WE are running out of time.

Google just made a subtle but massive change
Last month, Google quietly removed the num=100 search parameter.
This means you can no longer view 100 results at once. The default max is now 10.
Why does this matter?
- Most LLMs (OpenAI, Perplexity, etc.) rely (directly or indirectly) on Google’s indexed results, alongside their own crawlers.
- Overnight, their access to the “long tail” of the internet was cut by 90%.
The fallout:
- According to Search Engine Land, 88% of sites saw a drop in impressions.
- Reddit, which often ranks in positions 11–100, saw its LLM citations plummet. Its stock dropped 15%.
For startups, this is brutal. Visibility just got harder. Reddit as part of AEO just changed entirely.
It’s no longer enough to build a great product you need to crack distribution first. Because if people can’t discover you, they’ll never get to evaluate you.
Most engineers seem to always neglect this reality, but a mediocre product with great distribution will always beat a great product with mediocre distribution.
As Peter Thiel says:
“Most businesses get zero distribution channels to work: poor sales rather than bad product is the most common cause of failure. If you can get just one distribution channel to work, you have a great business. If you try for several but don’t nail one, you’re finished.
Superior sales and distribution by itself can create a monopoly, even with no product differentiation. The converse is not true. No matter how strong your product — even if it easily fits into already established habits and anybody who tries it likes it immediately — you must still support it with a strong distribution plan."
Distribution > Product

i have had the strangest experience reading this: i assume its all fake/bots, even though in this case i know codex growth is really strong and the trend here is real.
i think there are a bunch of things going on: real people have picked up quirks of LLM-speak, the Extremely Online crowd drifts together in very correlated ways, the hype cycle has a very "it's so over/we're so back" extremism, optimization pressure from social platforms on juicing engagement and the related way that creator monetization works, other companies have astroturfed us so i'm extra sensitive to it, and a bunch more (including probably some bots).
but the net effect is somehow AI twitter/AI reddit feels very fake in a way it really didnt a year or two ago.
