.@AnthropicAI โ I work in Vulnerability Research.
I enjoy using your product. But, if you require identity verification to use your product.. it would be a de facto licensing of my profession.
I reject the premise, and will not be able to use your product any longer.
English

@DanielMiessler @ZackKorman Imagine letting the government license access to a library card..
Thatโs what youโre advocating for.
English

@ZackKorman The bigger reason I want to do it is I want to be able to send it to people that we actually care about and have them actually give their opinions like a widely anonymous or biased in your favor or biased in my favor, group isnโt really gonna help us solve anything
English

Totally agree. And a world with laws is a way for the powerful to control the weak!
Power to the people! Remove all those stupid laws!
Seatbelt laws! Truancy laws! Down with the FDA!
Now that I think aboutโฆwhy do we even have a government?
They want to control who can drive cars? And buy guns? Burn it all down.
Itโs anti-freedom. Great points Zack.

I donโt want โobjective, transparent regulatory standardsโ for AI models. I donโt want AI to be regulated. A world where AI is regulated is a world where most people donโt get access. Itโs that simple.
English

@AISmallBizGuru @DanielMiessler If you think export controls and gov levers are going to keep a lid on stuff. Iโll tell you right now youโre wrong.
Minor speed bump at best. Open weight models will crush government regulation.
English

@AISmallBizGuru @DanielMiessler Exactly. Some entity trying to tell me what kind of model I can or canโt get inference from is wrong.
Let the market sort it out. What is the current SOTA vs 6m from now will inevitably shift.
Telling folks โyou cant have thisโ while gesticulating wildly.. is lame as hell.

Which, if you knew the space deeply, you might realize is a very good thing.
The problem is not that somebody is trying to decide that level of intelligence for us. The problem is making sure that that group of people is the right group of people.
Currently, itโs a chaotic mix of the main industry heads, who are competitors, combined with some part of the government.
It is not well formed yet, but this is the type of consortium that we should ideally pursue for this.
You realize there is a group of people deciding what is safe for you to eat, right? Itโs the same concept here. Itโs just in early days.

If we strip away the headlines about Mythos 5, the story is brutally simple: someone, somewhere, is deciding what level of intelligence you and your company are allowed to access.

@matrosov Iโve been using Claude with Binary Ninja MCP and have it identifying memory corruption sinks, tracing back to inputs. And then confirming with a remote debugger. Having it write exploits with full ROP chains. Simply amazing.
English

Claude Code is a very powerful tool on RE tasks. Looping it with IDA and the decompiler over MCP or idalib delivers very impressive results, especially in combination with dynamic workflows.
/goal find and list all the crypto implementations
[algo => address]
/loop use decompile but verify all the findings with disasm

English

@thatstageinlife @ChaoticEclipse0 Itโs a courtesy. Not law.
and.. code == speech
So protected 1A activity
English

@ChaoticEclipse0 Out of curiosity, when you (or other researchers) discover a vuln, do you / are you expected or required to submit potential solution(s) to said vuln, or is MSRC simply a notification channel of its existence and they address the patch?
