and it doesn’t just look at how much money you have, it looks at how you trade

There's some FUD going around CT about @P2Pdotme.
quick context - they're doing a token sale on @MetaDAOProject . p2p payments platform.
where things stand:
> $5.3M raised (88% of $6M target)
> 2 days left
> 336 contributors
but here's the thing - $4.5M of that came from just 10 wallets. that's ~90% from ten people.
then there's a $2M Polymarket bet on whether they hit $6M. people saying the team bet on themselves.
their explanation: "we placed it 10 days before launch, only had one oral commitment from Multicoin, nothing signed"
so they were betting on their own raise before they had commitments
do i think they're scamming? no, not really
would i have done it this way? absolutely not
the project might be fine but the optics are not looking good
would love to hear more from the team because right now it just feels off.

My intern got scammed doing a P2P transaction on one of the biggest exchanges in crypto The scammer reported the transaction as fraudulent after receiving crypto. The bank froze his account immediately without any warning, or investigation and his entire life savings have been locked for 2 years now. I think about that story every time someone tells me P2P trading is "safe enough" but it isn't. This is exactly the problem @P2Pdotme has been solving last two years what the protocol does: - matches buyers and sellers on-chain using local payment rails UPI in India, PIX in Brazil, QRIS in Indonesia - settles in under 90 seconds - nobody holds your money (not the protocol, not a middleman) - sub-0.01% fraud rate vs ~3% on Binance P2P Stats: - 322,000+ orders processed - $29.4M cumulative volume - 23,000+ users across 6 countries - $4M monthly volume in feb, growing 30% month over month - $578K annualized revenue from transaction fees alone. The token structure is also different from other launches: - fixed 25.8M supply - 50% float at launch, zero insider unlock at TGE - team has a 12-month cliff then only earns at 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x performance gates - protocol IP, treasury, and mint authority transfer to token holders. if a protocol with a sub-0.01% fraud rate had existed back then, my intern wouldn't gave gotten scammed. I think this could be a major gateway to mass adoption in crypto, since scams were one of the biggest reasons normies stayed away. Now that the P2P team is building a better infra, i think mass adoption could come much sooner.
