🫡 Fable 5 have been taken offline following a directive from the U.S. government.
The most interesting part of this story isn't Anthropic itself.
If a model can be removed from public access for millions of users because of a jailbreak that also works on other AI systems, it sets a concerning precedent.
Any new model could be targeted, a workaround could be discovered, and pressure could be applied to have it shut down.
In that scenario, developers may become increasingly hesitant to release new models, and innovation could slow down - not because of technological limitations, but because of regulatory pressure.
It'll be interesting to see how this situation unfolds.
Because today it's Fable 5, and tomorrow it could be any other model. 👀
