@dillon_mulroy Why does D1 count COUNT query results as normal read operations? It’s super easy to hit the read limits just by running count queries 🫠 Guess there’s no discount for COUNT 😆

@CherryJimbo @pawelgalazka @Cloudflare Omg, and you didn’t even mention COUNT. Cloudflare Trace counts it as a read operation, so it’s very easy to hit the limit if you have a lot of records.

I’ve spent more than a decade running production infrastructure on Cloudflare. So I rated almost 50 @Cloudflare products out of 10, asking: would I recommend building on this today? Some are exceptional. Some have burned me. A few are both. orangecloud.report

If you could rename the localhost IP (127.0.0.1), what would you call it? #CloudflareChat

@Jilles It's funny because I literally built a UserJot-style saas in under 3 days, full-stack on Cloudflare. It's live at quokkajot.com

This is insane. Cloudflare Workes wtf? < 2 min: bootstrapped 3 apps: React (Vite), Astro, SvelteKit. < 3 min: all deployed to the internet. < 4 min: live on a real custom domain. ~7 min: all three are working apps Workers AI, KV, R2 + D1. Cloudflare Workers are ridiculous...

@mehulmpt They don’t make a lot of revenue from that, so it’s not a big deal for them

caching authenticated endpoints is typically both hard and terrifying with Workers Cache you can run auth on every request, while still caching expensive reads on a per-user basis:

Workers Cache — Your Cloudflare Worker now has its own tiered cache in front of it: blog.cloudflare.com/workers-cache/ Workers Cache is a programmable tiered cache between Workers — even between code running in the same Worker we’ve seen pretty much every approach to caching over the years from our customers, and Workers Cache is the direct result of everything we’ve learned it takes all the workarounds and clever hacks we’ve seen to make sites and APIs fast, and simplifies them down to writing JavaScript and returning Cache-Control headers you can use for so much — for us this is like shipping 12 different things on the same day first up — you can use it to place your app near your database, cache its responses, and run code in front close to users:

@irvinebroque Is it possible to support wildcard hostnames (e.g. *.host.tld) in Turnstile on non-Enterprise plans? I'm building a SaaS where each customer gets their own subdomain, and managing hostnames individually doesn't scale :(

@ibocodes I just built a SaaS entirely on Cloudflare services… It's crazy that I got a fully working version up in less than three days! I'll open-source it soon.

stop overcomplicating your stack, just deploy everything to cloudflare - workers (compute) - d1 (sql db) + better auth - kv (cache) - r2 (object storage) - queues (background jobs) - hyperdrive (db acceleration) - email routing (sending) - + waf & ddos built-in worst case your top bill is $10

"Just use Vercel." "Just use Supabase." "Just use Clerk." Cool. Now your auth, database, and deployment are owned by 3 different companies who can change pricing whenever they want. And the rest of your product is wrapping OpenAI. At some point you have to ask yourself: what do I actually own here?
