I launched ScreenshotOne.com on May 29, 2022, 4 years ago 🥳 Since then, it has grown to $33K MRR with over 1,000 paying customers and executed more than 100,000,000 API requests. It is nothing impressive compared to the recent successes of people making millions in months after launch. But for me, it was life-changing: 0. A lot of luck involved, but I proved to myself I can achieve things. 1. Build my life the way I want it. 2. This allowed me to spend a lot of time with my kids and family. I almost didn’t miss any important events for them. 3. To fund pleasures. I have been reading every day, traveling, and meeting interesting people. 4. To give back to others and sponsor certain projects/people. One of the biggest successes for me is that I found ways to sustain my motivation to work on the product, and I don't see why I would stop. Grateful to everyone who supported me on this journey. And onto the next chapter. 🚀 Ask me anything.

today is day 100 since launching my app we reached ~$25k/mo honestly, when I posted "goal is to reach $10k/month in 100 days" I didn't think it would be possible i thought to myself, i would be happy to achieve just half of that. it doesn't hurt to dream big right? but you know what? i think it only worked because we dreamed big so dream bigger if you're a serious founder who's want to build the right product for the right customer, i'm 100% sure that it's a matter of time until you surpass your goals but i'm also 1000% sure if you're just trying the easy way out by creating ai slop, copying apps, and spamming reddit for a quick buck, you'll fail no, this is not about morality. it's about you. you won't learn anything meaningful by creating slop, copying, and spamming. be very conscious about what you're building, experiment more, talk to customers, and learn. be honest with yourself i know it can be frustrating to have no users & no revenue for the first 50 days since launch but guess what - that learning is far more valuable than you think and will get you far it's your knowledge and experience that others can't copy and can't ask ai to replicate your moat and edge isn't your product. it's you. so give yourself some respect and start learning. if you read up to this point, you're probably serious about the game and attempting to build something meaningful. to make up for your time, here's my secret that everyone knows but never practices: 1. launch quick (max 1 week) 2. get user feedback 3. change 1 variable based on feedback 4. repeat yeah it's boring but it works - that's how i got to $25k/mo but key skill here is to ask the right questions if this is something that you're having a hard time with, leave a link to your product and I'll try to reply a question worth asking yourself or your users hopefully that'll shorten the time needed for you to get your first paid customer i learned so much from X, and i'll do my best to give back -- next goal: $1m/year until eoy

new app is finally live! was soo nervous that it wouldn’t be ready by demo day but apple thankfully approved it on the last day 🥲 goal is to reach $10k/month in 100 days and i’ll be sharing my lessons on the way! (super happy that the first photos ever taken on the app are my friends from HRG ❤️)

duolingo users are begging for someone to clone the 2018 version 💀 people with 1000+ day streaks are deleting their accounts over an owl that texts them in spanish about their dead grandma we're so back to make the old thing great again as a business model

Duolingo has 5.2M ratings, 19% are negative 🫠 that's almost 1M people telling you EXACTLY what to build: > energy system punishes you for learning more > sudden lesson resets nuke multi-year streaks > AI generated content is full of weird phrases > notifications designed to manipulate not teach > impossible to cancel the subscription every complaint is a feature for someone else's app

@ibocodes oh fair, but i've heard tons frm my clients that the people judge a lot based on their website. some lost serious investors/clients due to their website looking mid, but i get what you mean, dont wanna blow the whole budget on website when you only have 200 users

overly polished saas landing pages make me trust the product less feels like the effort went into convincing me instead of building the thing a plain landing page for me says that the founder cared about the app, not the pitch

@liutauras_liu oh my bad. i think that(your) take is true for more aged websites that already passed the first phase, where they got customers through good service and then polished the landing page pitch. but my statement is more for fairly new saas's

@ibocodes ohh im not a design studio , I sell words that's why it's very minimalistic :D but thanks honestly, when I see a website that is not polished I instantly feel like put off, idk we are different on this, but i think thats what most people feel (but I can't talk for everyone lol)

yeah it's a pattern i've noticed the last couple weeks. i signed up for a few tools, and in all 3 cases the ones with the fancy landing page had something broken in onboarding, or i had to email the founder to fix stuff even early on meanwhile the ones i'm actually paying for now had a very oneshot vibe-coded feel to the landing page but the experience was smooth and i got exactly what i wanted to clarify though, this is mostly for newer tools

@ibocodes An interesting point, but I find it hard to generalize. Usually, how you do anything is how you do everything.
