@T3c1 @NicolasLDavout @ModernNavy @MercoPressNews It's all about demography, mate! Some sections of the Muslim population don't hide their intention to bring in Sharia law in Britain. Imagine what would happen if they were the majority! Same analogy, mate!

Sir Jim Ratcliffe made a statement in an interview that the population of the UK has increased from 58 million in 2000 to 70 million now (he did mistakenly say 2020 instead of 2000). The usual left wing mouthpieces claim his figures are wrong but provide no evidence. Here is the evidence that he is correct. To make it worse the increase is almost entirely due to immigration, the UK's birth rate has been below replacement level for decades. worldpopulationreview.com/countries/unit…

@RareAxies @Lord_Talbot64 Actually love that your original post complains about ‘whataboutism’ ‘My original point about population growth may be completely wrong, but what about this employment data’ I’m going to have postcards made of your tweets - great comedy

Imagine your country is 100% dependent on importing oil and lng, Iran closes the SOH and you don't IMMEDIATELY send your warships to open that shit back up because you don't want to get "involved." Niggas, u already involved.

@redrumlisa @ThenItCame A better policy would be to sign what is a fair amount of the pensioner should be paid and then lock that to earnings overtime that amount could be higher than today or lower than today but having it constantly go up against their earnings is irrational

@redrumlisa @ThenItCame I don’t think you get it? Over a 50 year timeframe it will ensure that the amount pays pensioners goes up drastically above the earnings of any individual. Meanwhile the number of pensioners will also increased drastically versus the working population.

LSE Professor earning over 100k a year will have a very good pension pot - I worked at the LSE their Professors never leave the Academic/Political bubble & I mean never. Thinks a 70 year old man in Stoke on Trent who has worked on a building site since he was 16 shouldn't have £12,500 a year to live on.

The UK triple lock is the singlest stupidest policy in the entire Western world, and the most damaging to the future of a country. Of course, it is also untouchable and almost undiscussed in the UK press. @mattyglesias does a big favour to the UK public here.

@GarrittyOf @JeremiahDJohns The nature of the triple lock is that even if there is aggressive growth it will still become unaffordable eventually

It's very funny to me that this policy is pretty much a mathematical guarantee that pensions will take up an increasing share of British GDP, every single year, forever, and it's politically impossible to change.

To any future historians reading this, this era will make a lot more sense if you remember that every name is the opposite of what it really is. The antifascists are fascists, the antiracists are racists, the fact-checkers are propagandists, etc. Hopefully this has been fixed by your time.

@Pickle_cRypto fwiw from chatting with some friends who are interested, borrow rates from USDai may be superior to trad private credit options which kinda plays into the central thesis of crypto re: easier capital formation etc

Britain’s recovery is taking shape. Inflation down. Rates easing. Borrowing falling. Retail sales rising. Fastest growth in the European G7. Under @RachelReevesMP this Labour govt has restored credibility, and laid the foundations for long term growth. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@EssexMan312 @jruddy99 @Keir_Starmer You posted a vote reform posted but given reform only got 4.1m votes (out of a possible 60m+ according to your other post) understandable with 55m+ people not voting for them you don’t want them in?

CHAGOS UPDATE: Iain Duncan Smith has briefed me on his meetings this week with the Department for War, State Department, NSC and the White House on stopping the Chagos Surrender. My Shadow Foreign Secretary @pritipatel is flying to Washington this weekend for further meetings. The Conservative team will do all we can to stop this terrible deal, force the PM into another U-turn and protect our national interest! 🇬🇧

@DamianLow3 You can’t use net immigration figures to calculate this. You have to use gross immigration (just because someone else left so net is lower, doesn’t mean fewer people in the county arrived over the last few years.

Not true. The claim inflates numbers for political impact. Real ONS figures show a dramatic recent decline in net migration. The actual truth and detail below. 2.8 million figure is a clear exaggeration and the 1 in 25 claim is rubbish. Official ONS data shows long-term net migration peaked at 944,000 (year to March 2023) then fell sharply: 649,000 (year to June 2024) and just 204,000 (year to June 2025). Cumulative net migration from mid-2021 to mid-2025 is closer to 2.0–2.4 million at most (accounting for revisions and the sharp recent drop), not 2.8 million. UK population mid-2025 is provisionally 69.5 million so even using an inflated 2.8m figure, net arrivals over ~ years represent far less than 1 in 25 of the current population and the math doesn't hold up anyway, as net migration isn't the same as total population added (births/deaths also factor in).
