If Gee did his job and sent Radley to the sin bin then Broncos win this game. Roosters were out on their feet and Broncos were flying. Instead Gee makes it up, then bins Staggs and ends the Broncos comeback dead. NRL will be silent on it too.

Wow I could not disagree more. I actually think it would make the Broncos look “small” and weak to continue to honour a former player who has taken any opportunity to publicly (and needlessly) bash them for years now. Being a legend of the club doesn’t mean that’s play on 🤷‍♀️
The League Scene@LeagueScenePod

Matty Johns has come out against the Broncos decision to rename a conference room that was initially named after Gorden Tallis Matty said “I disagree with Gorden sometimes. That’s fine because we’re mates, what they've done makes the Broncos look pretty petty and pretty small.”

@SmokinJo21 I think when people say “glorified trial” it’s more that Hull had played Preseason trials, challenge cup and a round one game before playing and Bronx were playing there first game of the season. & it’s a little brother big brother thing, the little brother always wants to win

Despite my Broncos going down today in the World Club Challenge I’m still a big advocate for the WCC game and it must remain apart of the schedule for both the premiership winners. The “glorified trial” stuff is nonsense. The players are out there to win.

@KosSamaras @beninthecapita1 Isn’t the preference flows from OneNation still pretty unknown so a “Massive Labor Win” not locked in having a primary in the low 30s.

No, have done so for months but critical point here, we are talking about the margins. It’s like watching the complete destruction of the Liberal Party and still looking for some cobwebs in the pantry to prove it’s hurting Labor. We can find them, but the burning wreckage outside is a much bigger story. In the days to come we will illustrate what happens when you project current polling trends, using demographic and socio economic weights - it will still equate to a massive win for Labor.

Is this the first time Kos has admitted One Nation is attracting former Labor voters?
Kos Samaras@KosSamaras

Where One Nation is actually growing When One Nation polls at 25% or above nationally, that number isn’t distributed evenly. It never is. National averages flatten the geography out of politics and geography is where this story lives. If the average is mid-twenties, that means One Nation is pushing into the mid-thirties and beyond in a swathe of regional seats. Not everywhere. Not in the cities. But in the places where it matters for them, provincial and outer regional Australia. That’s worth sitting with for a moment. A party that didn’t exist thirty years ago is now competitive with the primary vote of the major parties in parts of the country where the Nationals and to a lesser extent the Liberal Party, once won seats without breaking a sweat. One Nation’s support is being fed from three directions: former Coalition voters moving right, serial minor party voters consolidating behind a single banner, and on the margins, Labor voters in regional seats where Labor is no longer competitive. Each channel works differently but they’re all flowing to the same place. There’s a temptation to treat One Nation’s growth as a simple story of right-wing radicalisation. It isn’t. A large share of the voters powering this aren’t ideological converts. They’re serial minor party voters, people who have bounced between One Nation, Palmer, Indis, and whoever else was available. They don’t vote ‘for’ minor parties so much as they vote ‘against’ major ones. The party name on the ballot matters less than the message it sends…..not you. One Nation has suddenly become the most durable vehicle for that sentiment. Where other minor parties have surged and faded, Hanson’s outfit has consolidated the protest vote into something more permanent (possibly). Then there’s the less obvious dynamic. On the margins, One Nation is also picking up a fraction of the Labor vote, but not where Labor is competitive. This is happening in regional seats Labor doesn’t hold and in many cases hasn’t held for a long time. These are communities where people might carry a cultural memory of Labor, but where the modern Labor Party feels distant, urban, professional, removed. In those seats, a handful of points moving from Labor to One Nation doesn’t hurt Labor. Labor wasn’t winning anyway. But it does change the shape of the contest. It super charges One Nation’s vote, and makes the seat a genuine contest versus the Coalition. Labor losing votes to One Nation in National and Liberal Party regional seats is bad news for the Coalition. I would not rule out these Labor voters tactically voting to oust the incumbent Coalition MP either.

HAAS MORE: Have been told the Broncos want the Payne Haas story to go away and the spin is in overdrive … now I’ve been told the board have decided not to make a last ditch play for him. Probably wise as all indications are Haas has made his mind up. Great news for Souths.

@AlboMP You can't make this up. The Prime Minister who spent 2 years spreading division now accuses the Jewish organisers of a rally calling out his failure of being the ones who are 'sowing division'. Relatives of the shooting victims are scheduled to speak.
