@ChrisMears1 Good news. Despite all the anti-Chelsea nonsense in the media, we still have a massive pull for top class talent. Watch them all weep again when we are picking up more silverware.

I borrowed an umbrella from my Airbnb host in Kyoto. I forgot to return it when I checked out, and realized when I was already on the train to Osaka.
I felt terrible. It was a nice umbrella, not a cheap one. I messaged the host apologizing.
She responded: "No problem! Enjoy the umbrella. It's yours now."
I said I'd mail it back. She said "please don't. Postage costs more than an umbrella. Just use it and think of Kyoto when it rains."
I insisted I wanted to return it. She said "okay, but I have a different idea. Next time you see someone who needs an umbrella and doesn't have one, give them this umbrella. Tell them to do the same when they are finished with it. Maybe an umbrella travels all around Japan helping people."
That idea was so beautiful I agreed.
Two weeks later I was in Hiroshima and it started pouring. A woman with a baby was standing under an awning looking stressed. No umbrella, the baby was crying.
I walked over and gave her the umbrella. Told her the story in broken Japanese. She understood enough.
She tried to refuse but I insisted. Told her "when you're done with it, give it to someone else who needs it."
She nodded, said thank you about ten times, and hurried off with her baby.
I got soaked walking back to my hotel but felt good about it.
Sometimes I wonder where that umbrella is now. Hope it's still traveling, still helping people.

@KevinHo20020110 @hinds_stuart @Greatland_GGP And a potential special dividend on the back of the O'Callaghan deal. #ggp

@hinds_stuart @Greatland_GGP I am with you Stuart. Also decision to mine is imminent plus likely sale of O’Callaghans

Highest price I’ve paid in six years of @Greatland_GGP investing.
Reasoning for me is I believe the market doesn’t take into account the impending #Telfer resource cutback growth and west dome underground potential.
Then there’s a world class #Havieron yet to come.

@henrywinter Can they guarantee that all games will be played at 3pm Saturday so that supporter availability can be guaranteed to attend? 🙄

Never mind the ballots? Tickets for Chelsea home matches next season will be sold “via an application process for Chelsea FC members”. Application in a designated window, tickets then allocated through an automated process “run by a third party to ensure complete fairness”.
Chelsea introduce ID verification for tickets. “In the interests of security and to help tackle ticket fraud, before accessing or purchasing tickets, supporters over the age of 16 will need to complete an online verification”.
Chelsea say they have suspended “over 16,000 memberships, versus 5,000 in 24/25” due to “ticket misuse/touting”, almost half involving “misuse of tickets purchased within the Family Stand”. Chelsea blocked “up to 80,000 bots per game at the point of sale”.
Loyalty points will be awarded only for physical attendance at game, ie ticket scanned at turnstile, and not simply through purchasing ticket. “The club has been made aware of instances where supporters have purchased tickets solely to obtain loyalty points, with no intention of attending the match.”
From next season, season ticket holders “will be required to utilise their ticket for a minimum 13 PL home games”. Club adds that “where a supporter’s seat has not been utilised for a number of matches, the club will endeavour to contact that supporter to make well-being checks and offer advice on utilisation methods”.
These include forwarding ticket to an eligible member and listing ticket on Chelsea’s official ticket exchange. “With such high demand for our tickets, it is important to us that as many seats as possible are made available to members.” #CFC

@101lb @MattDebonoAC My mate has heard murmurings that ST prices will be increased by 15% for next season. His information is normally pretty reliable, so I've no reason to suspect it's incorrect.

The beginning of the end. Ludicrous.

The forensic details of Starmer’s EU payments scandal are catastrophic.
Brussels wants £1 billion annually based on a Swiss-style model: Switzerland pays €375 million per year to access the single market.
Applying the GDP ratio between Switzerland and the UK produces the £1 billion figure Britain would pay.
But here’s what makes this an obscene betrayal: Britain’s pre-Brexit net contribution was £8-9 billion per year.
We’ve already paid over £44 billion in divorce bill settlements since 2020, with another £5.7 billion still owed.
Those payments will continue until 2065 - yes, 2065 - at £95 million annually for decades.
Now Starmer wants to add £1 billion per year on top, described by European diplomats as “pay to play”.
And for what? Access without representation.
Brussels has already made clear Britain will be “blocked from making any changes or amendments to the rules, making the UK an EU rule-taker”.
We’ll be paying £1 billion yearly for the privilege of following laws we have zero say in shaping. Whether you voted leave or remain, surely at least both sides thought we’d STOP paying Brussels when Leave won.
Instead, Starmer is negotiating to pay them forever.
This is the biggest political con in modern British history.

A few of the numbers we’ve heard thrown around on the value of Greatland’s O'Callaghans tungsten deposit: eye-watering. We don’t think a deal is too far away.
