I do think it's fundamentally stupid to put a ton of minutes in starters' legs in the Carabao knockouts and then throw it away to play your obviously vulnerable backup keeper. If you're gonna rotate, rotate. If you're gonna play the starters, play the starters.

@bootcutgenes Hmm I was slightly surprised by how much City were on top but I was always thinking best we could do was 1-0 from a corner or 0-0 and win on pens, and could easily have done if we had Raya not Kepa. Don't really see the point in analysing performances anymore.

Gyokeres is one of the worst players I’ve seen play for us. Just absolutely miles off it

@Blahovic We expected the game to go like this didn't we? Just Raya wouldn't make an error like that. Then we score from a set piece. I suppose being obliged play your backup keeper isn't ideal for a smash and grab team.

We have been pretty terrible and mentally timid all season in big games, so this isn't surprising me. If City play well they're better than us.

Strange one this because obviously it would have been nice to win but how seriously can you take it when both teams start their backup keeper.

@bootcutgenes I don't think it's baffling, all these guys can play. Consistency is the real challenge at the top in football.

Makes the bad games even more baffling. But it maybe feels like the good ones are becoming more and more common?
