@_EagleTimes Only reason slight nod Knicks is basketball IQ of Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges of course Brunson. Knicks are less athletic with speed & bounce, especially at guard…but less talented is untrue when include skill & IQ.

@ActionNetworkHQ Jaylen Brown carried a team that chose to sell off & tank in Tatum’s absence to the 2-seed. And we’re back to picking at his few flaws. It’s like saying Yankees Aaron Judge only hit 2 triples last year & has to do better.
English

@TheDunkCentral And the way Playoff P (size/position) & VJ (bounce) secured big defensive boards down the stretch. Embiid can’t got get it like he used to, so team rebounds are huge. Even Grimes has a nose for D-boards.

@shegone03 @MLB Gwynn left SD state with basketball records, collected “8” MLB batting titles, ended career with more doubles than strikeouts. If Gwynn had attempted the snapping launch angle approach, his opposite field fly balls don’t nestle into stands at 330’, they’re 15’ shy of track.

Now lil richie is talking 💩💩💩 about Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn!
One of the most revered @MLB players who was the model of consistency and an even better person deserves the utmost respect but somehow he’s being called a #Judy by the grifter Richard Schenk!
“A recent exchange on IG included a guy supporting Tony Gwynn over Aaron Judge.
I like Gwynn. But he was a Judy. He chose the 5/6 hole over slug. Therefore he didn’t strike out much. He had a long career because of it. To each his own. Happy for him.
But….NO ONE would rather have Gwynn than Judge in their lineup.
Yet….he kept talking.
He kept talking about strike outs. And how Aaron Judge strikes out a lot. Therefore Gwynn was a better hitter.
My post below, finally got him to STFU. Aaron has significantly higher OBP. Read that again. Aaron reached base more often than Tony Gwynn. And Aaron has significantly higher Slug. So Aaron is SIGNIFICANTLY MORE PRODUCTIVE. He made less outs.
His argument was about HOW the outs were made. Who cares……when one guy is FAR MORE PRODUCTIVE. If you’re arguing how the outs were made……not how often you’re making them …..you’re a moron.
Yes we prefer productive outs. No one likes strike outs. But when you criticize someone who is one of the most productive hitters EVER…..and support a Judy over him because he strikes out less…..you’re a moron.”

@EaglesDiplomat @sixers @PhilaUnion Debated myself this am. Flyers shirt is nicest but I’m a bandwagon & I get stuck in 8 min conversations about a 4th line defenseman who I pretend to know. At least I’m slightly on point when checked on my Sixers knowledge.

When you’re unsure on what to wear so you just put on everything! 😂 #RingTheBell #FlyEaglesFly #IgniteTheOrange @sixers @PhilaUnion

Philly Sports Sufferer@mccrystal_alex
Tomorrow is going to be so insane. Biggest Philly sports day since the Super Bowl Going to be pure joy or unimaginable agony
English

@NFL_DovKleiman A few star Phils walked across parking lot & attended game 6 of Flyers-Penguin series together when their game got suspended - are we to apply same logic? Think not. Even caught some boos (due to slow start) when shown on Jumbotron.

@PatrickMcEnroe @WSJopinion My son went 8-2 as soph this year in #2/3 singles D3 while also late inning D-replacement OF on baseball team until late March when pivoted tennis. Standout baseball & squash in HS…now has options to move up in tennis. So if you win D3, UTR climbs, Americans can have options
English

College sports is the Wild West.
College tennis helped shape my life. Now the sport is facing a serious question:
Where are all the Americans in American college tennis?
Thanks to @WSJopinion for giving me the space to make the case.
Wall Street Journal Opinion@WSJopinion
Where are all the Americans in American college tennis? The professionalization of college sports is reshaping athletic programs beyond football and basketball, writes @PatrickMcEnroe on.wsj.com/4dk2DZi

@shegone03 Reuben Amaro Jr on the Phils broadcast called it out even louder - red light when could’ve had drink in dugout before catcher received relay
English

This is unacceptable at the highest level of the sport! #shegone
Giant Hot Takes@GiantHotTakes
The fact the Giants lost the game on this level of incompetence is insanity

@CanesCoachL Here we are…Prep schools like started taking 3 future pros in the 1980s, going 30-2 & looking like smartest guy in the room, but it’s easiest business model to duplicate…give free $30k education for wins. Within 10 yrs entire leagues need to bring in 3 pros just to go .500.
English

@FDSportsbook Embiid doesn’t have longevity (if MLB HOF) but once Naismith let Yao Ming in with short career & less dominant peak period, will be impossible to omit Embiid.
English

@therealmikekb Would love the Sixers to make a play for Cedric Coward. That physicality with Maxey & VJ…then all Sixers need is 2 or 3 skilled Ilyasova & TJ McConnell types for 15-18 min per game to fortify bench…but Morey doesn’t like veterans with 1 elite NBA skill - Larry Brown playbook
English

@NeDegenerate Looks a lot like street like 3 blocks off City Line in Lower Merion…
English

@StoolTennis You gotta step in to end point with swinging volley or overhead. 50% of talented amateurs end that point.
English

@FDSportsbook If this was get a “hit” in 100 pitches that were “strikes”, my younger self goes for the bag thinking I could flare one off to right or hit a single worm-burner left of 2nd baseman that squirts through in 100 swings, but today gonna play bird in the hand
English

@BaseballDudes48 Like Bob Uecker schtick…successfully marketed himself with self-deprecating humor as an Everyman & bad major league catcher. Anybody who played a little realizes there is no such thing as bad major leaguer, just degrees of exceptional.
English

HS superstars disappear in the world of college sports. College superstars who become professional often end up being roster fillers. Then there’s the elite of the elite. They outlasted everyone else. They play on TV. They can do things with their body and minds 99+% of the rest just couldn’t even though they were “the best.”
The last player on a MLB roster has ability like few others. Next time you watch a MLB game, know who you are seeing on TV is one of the best to ever do it, period.
English

@Aleeexanderrrrr Wawrinka had far more pace on his backhand & objectively harder hit serve & forehand but was not nearly as good an overall player. It’s not a stretch to say John Isner had a better serve than Federer even though Federer very much belongs on the Mt Rushmore of all tennis players.
English

@Aleeexanderrrrr Nah, Roger wins in movement, fluidity, footwork, overall game but Stan is the slightly better ball striker & his laser beam backhand is gold standard.
English

@CKilgarriff11 He’s a #4 who doesn’t work max exertion so he should be there giving up 3 runs over 6 innings in dog days of summer & if it goes Sanchez or Wheeler, Luzardo, Nola or Painter that’s fine with most Phillies fans…his money is already spent
English

It’s insane how many Phillies fan still don’t realize Aaron Nola is a bottom pitcher across the entire league. He’s at best a bad #5 SP. He can’t eat innings anymore. Gets constantly barreled. He’s bad. One of the worst contracts in all of the MLB. Up there with Rendon.
