There are absolute losers who have never done a single thing of interest or value, who have only ever extracted whatever pitiful $ they've been able to snatch from the swirling mass of speculative churn that is what attracted them to this space.... And I can reliably find these types replying to random @m00npapi posts saying "stfu chud" One of the most consistent opportunities that exists in this insane parasocial industry is to simply ignore whatever that type of person does on a day to day basis and instead focus on shipping literally anything. Try to sincerely make something that retains any interest or value for more than a moment, generate novel experiences, transform possible futures. I truly mean this: if you attempt to build anything at all and do it with sincere intent and effort, you will set yourself apart from a sadly significant consumer base online, and from so many slop devs you're competing with. If you go a step further and your work is creative, unique, or better realized? Man You can really run it up. Thank god for the other kind of user (which liquid is so lucky to have in spades rn) the thoughtful, sharp and consistently engaged users who identify value obsessively, watch out for disingenuous actors and support small teams in spite of more readily available emotive and self-superior attitudes or accusations that pile up when the first sells come in. Hope, positivity, sincerity and faith pairs really well with hard work :) for founders and users too

Steve Wozniak famously went to his boss at HP and said they should build a personal computer. They said no, so he left to found Apple. It’s a lesson for leaders: one "no" shouldn't kill a contrarian but right idea in your company. Twice a year at Coinbase, anyone in the company can pitch a "next bet" idea to a panel of folks. It's structured similar to pitching a handful of venture capitalists internally. If you get any one of them to say yes and fund it, you're green lit. You need ONE yes, not a unanimous yes from everyone in the org structure from you to the CEO (a de facto committee). Lots more goes into this, around capping resourcing on next bets (most are small 2-3 person teams), knowing when to shut them down, or under what revenue/profitability criteria they graduate to regular products. But this is important to having a company that produces repeatable innovation.
