Perfection is not humanly possible, but being the best is. Nobody can reach a true 10/10, in a seriously complex endeavour, humans fall on a range of “one to nine”. The only way to reach 9 is to theorize what 10 looks like. Abstract thinking is the only way to reach the top.

@129lol_ @ChadJungleLoL Knowing the spectator hot keys shows that you have put time into analyzing the game with actual vod reviews which is upstream of a lot of traits you want in a coach. Also when you are reviewing as a team you won’t be wasting a ton of time trying out every single hotkey there is

Best LCS coaches I've ever worked with didn't know a single hotkey and spent half of the review saying "ahh where's the button? Noo not that one, the other one, i wanna see... oh yes that one, thanks" Shit was awesome.

If I was doing coach tryouts the first thing I would look for is how good you are at piloting spectate. If you don't know all the hotkeys and have good control over the spectate tool you haven't put the hours in.

Been practicing "blindfold drafting" in League - doing mock drafts verbally with no visual aid. My chess coach used to force me to play blindfold all the time to improve my visualization skills, and it ofc really works. Think it is an idea that more coaches should try.
