Seen a lot of negativity due to government money being used to help fund the Crucible redevelopment. Government haven’t paid the full £45million. The event brings in £3m pa inside 3 weeks for the city of Sheffield, which keeps hospitality establishments open & saves jobs

I'm glad someone else has mentioned this. I think out of respect for the pleasure many have taken from this World Open, I decided on a hiatus. But I think I'll return soon with more, because the pockets at events like this spoil my enjoyment of snooker and I can't be alone.

On a slightly sour note though I really wish they would sort out the size of the pockets in the Chinese events. It’s the same for all players of course but so many shots are being missed but still drop. It’s been mentioned many times even by players but nothing is being done.
