Has anyone seen something like this show up in their sprayer filters before? Cleaning out before starting fungicide & all these blue plastic strips came out of the filters. Reminds me of plastic from a poly feed bag. Never seen before, always same water source #ontag #spraychat

@farmerschneck All I’ve sprayed since last cleaning is Reflex, Basagran, Hurricane, Classic, Marshall, and required adjuvants. Nothing thick or hard to handle, but I was unimpressed with how much grit and gunk were in the filters.

@farmerschneck Gotcha. We have a filter before inductor, and main filter on sprayer, but all that was caught in in-line strainers for each boom section. The small white squares are from a terrible jug design - looking at you @OligoPrime Blue strips unknown.

Not sure if these are the smokiest conditions I’ve experienced in our area, but it’ll be close if it isn’t. A real strong orange and blue haze, getting worse as the day goes on. Headlights shouldn’t be reflecting off road signs… What do the numbers say @CAlexMasse @WxOntario1?

@islandviewag Yes, I’d imagine he would! We’re growing a mixture of Epic and Gallantry varieties. Also growing Vortex black beans, and Indi, Blizzard, and Vigilant white beans. Always gotta do some trials to learn what’s best. 7 varieties in our white bean trial and 5 in the black trial

@LMcLachlan60 @JoshBoersen Yep, we’ll 2-pass the fungicide. Canopy is almost closed on 2 of 3 fields, but staging says go based on flowers and pin bean development. Protecting those flowers is key for preventing white mold

@islandviewag We’ll pull them before harvesting (and pull our hair out while doing so), so hilling makes it easier to get the knife under the plant

Seeing other wheat flat or leaning and ours standing has reminded me why we like it. And it was one of my pet projects in a former life, so I’m invested lol.

@BearingerLloyd I’m always torn spraying POST on beans. It’ll work better on weeds in the heat of the day but also stings the beans more. Safer in morning and evening but less effective. I shut down from 1-5 myself, then just wrapped up for the night.
