Yesterday, I celebrated 11 years at Ripple. Back then, I couldn’t have predicted that we’d still be fighting for regulatory clarity. The fight has been worth it. After a day in DC having great conversations with @SenatorHagerty, @berniemoreno, @SenatorTimScott, @JohnBoozman and @patrickjwitt - and on stage at @Semafor World Economic Summit - I know we are closer than ever. The CLARITY Act window is open. And now is our moment to act.

Team Ripple at the White House celebrating a historic day for crypto! Bummed I wasn't able to make it in person but celebrating from afar

Thank you @SenatorTimScott and the entire Senate Banking Committee for hosting its first hearing on comprehensive crypto market structure legislation today. In a refreshing change from the rhetoric of the Gensler years, every Senator affirmed that crypto technology is here to stay and deserves rules of the road. The legislative process is rarely simple, but we’re past the starting line, and that in and of itself is a MAJOR step that gives me hope that the US can make up for lost ground.

The final crossing of t’s and dotting of i’s – and what should be my last update on SEC v Ripple ever… Last week, the SEC agreed to drop its appeal without conditions. @Ripple has now agreed to drop its cross-appeal. The SEC will keep $50M of the $125M fine (already in an interest-bearing escrow in cash), with the balance returned to Ripple. The agency will also ask the Court to lift the standard injunction that was imposed earlier at the SEC’s request. All subject to Commission vote, drafting of final documents and usual court processes. That’s all folks!

This is it – the moment we’ve been waiting for. The SEC will drop its appeal – a resounding victory for Ripple, for crypto, every way you look at it. The future is bright. Let's build.

Some weeks feel like months in crypto...this was one of them. From the @WhiteHouse Crypto Summit to the @CFTC CEO Roundtable and the sheer amount of news announced (hooray for @NatCryptoAssoc!), it’s been quite a few days. There’s been a lot of talk about what this White House has and will prioritize with their crypto agenda - most importantly, regulatory clarity through Congressional action, as well as a BTC reserve & crypto stockpile, support for stablecoin innovation backed by US Treasuries, and more. I was extremely pleased to see the incredible support from this administration. It’s easy to get lost in some of the maxi-induced noise, but there’s so much more to this industry than the infighting and one coin versus another time-wasting rhetoric. We will – as we’ve always done -- continue to champion the need for a level playing field (and it was great to hear others in the room echo this as well!) and for the industry to come together to move much needed legislation forward in the US. An incredible THANK YOU to @realdonaldtrump for opening and welcoming us to the White House (amazing contrast to the the hostility of the Biden administration), @davidsacks47 and @BoHines for a truly historic Summit, and @carolinedpham for hosting us at the CFTC!
