Good turnout today for early voting with over 1k voters coming to the Election Office to cast their ballot. 521 voted over the weekend during Sunday voting as well. Come by and vote early this week from 7AM-5PM thru Friday evening at the Admin Building.

All #ButtsCounty Business Offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving Holidays. In addition, the Tax Commissioner will close at noon on Wednesday. The Court Offices will be closed all day on Wednesday. We wish everyone a blessed and safe Thanksgiving!

Remember, this does not mean that we are completely out of the woods yet. The potential for severe impacts has diminished but we will still see heavy wind gusts, possible downed trees and risk of power outages from these after effects as Ian moves into South Carolina.

The latest #TropicalStormIan forecast track has shifted eastward again, lessening the potential impact for Butts County. Remember with each eastward shift, the tropical storm impact lessons on our area but we could still see TS force winds and a few inches of rain over weekend.

Though we recently finished a major internal and structural rehabilitation of the Historic @1898Courthouse, the exterior wasn’t part of the project. Several roof repairs were needed to the 24 year old slate roof. Our facilities team finally found specialists that could do the job

I was honored beyond words today to receive a 2022 Preservation Award for "Excellence in Rehabilitation" from the Ga Trust for Historic Preservation in Augusta with my team of architects and contractors. Working on the Historic 1898 Courthouse was a dream job for me. Thank you 🙏🏻
