@MOF1916 Mick - magpie might be an appropriate term. One physical item salvaged - originally described as “treen” but more likely “the” mallet used to typeset the Proclamation.

Extraordinary archive of Easter Rising material collected from Liberty Hall by British officer, 2nd Lt DK Cooper.
Most of this collection is the very definition of ephemera, so he clearly had an eye on posterity when he gathered these bits of paper.

Would you say this is post Easter Rebellion with the restoration of the uniforms in 1917-18?

MICE ! This original 1916 newspaper, showing Pearse's surrender, survived 102 years intact, before being partially destroyed by mice in 2018. If your history collection is paper-based, you may think fire and flood are your biggest enemies, but there are little ones out there too.
