The year is 2058. Marc Bergevin is in year 46 of his 5 year plan. The Habs are averaging 1 goal per game over the previous 40 years, yet they still refuse to play 63 year old Alex Galchenyuk at Center. #çavamal #habs

@DwayneNHL @so_rain38818 He was a huge part in them getting blown out in games 5&7 vs Florida. Stop living in a dream world. The Leafs are in no mans land. Good luck.

@1967Hey @so_rain38818 Tanev was their #1 last year and a huge part of them winning the division and challenging the Panthers to 7 games. How many games did he play this year? Yea thought so. wasn't the same at all.

I get the on-ice officials not wanting to influence a Stanley Cup Playoff overtime with a subjective call, but I sorta feel you have to call the ones that can be confirmed by simply counting to six.

Raliegh is one of the best home rinks in the entire league and it may not be close. That crowd noise is INSANE. #Soundthesiren

@1967Hey @MylkTV Habs fans are only complaining about the refs this series because they don’t know hockey. Enjoy the last 3 games of your season. It went a lot better than you could have imagined!

Alright, now that Game 2 is over I gotta say it. Canes really haven't even hit the level I know they can reach yet. And the puck was not as favorable at moments last night, besides the Robinson goal, and the Canes could have won 5-2 easily. Very promising win tho.

@GrumpyLoganLakr @TheLynxital Nobody is dirtier than Tampa. And the Sabres and Canes dive just as much. Did you see Svech last game? You clearly didn't watch the Tampa series. Habs deserved to win in 6. And outside of games 1&6 vs Buffalo, and the 2nd period in game 7, Habs took it to the Sabres.

@1967Hey @TheLynxital I watched them all. That’s the Montreal game. It’s fine, it’s worked so far. I just think eventually the bounces stop and the refs wise up to the dives and dirty play. But maybe not? And if that’s the case then Montreal will win.

@GrumpyLoganLakr @MylkTV Referee complaints are for losers. Every fanbase in the history of the world thinks the refs are out to get their team, and I include the Habs. And last I checked, goaltending is part of the game. In fact, mediocre goaltending is a big reason why the Canes haven't won an ECF.

@1967Hey @MylkTV *Mediocre goaltending. And if you can’t see the refs have been benefiting the Habs then you’re blind. The canes outplayed the Habs by a wider margin in game 2 than the Habs outplayed the canes in game 1. Even if you outplay a team it might not be reflected in the score.

@1967Hey @TheLynxital I have. They sit back and wait for a lucky bounce or a biased call and win a game they shouldn’t have. I think that sums it up pretty well.

@GrumpyLoganLakr @MylkTV Refs? Media goaltending? C'mon man. You sound like a whiny Tampa fan. Own it. Canes were bad in game 1, Habs were great & opportunistic. Complete reversal in game 2. Canes played to their identity. Let's see what happens tonight.

@1967Hey @MylkTV Ok. I’ll give you that period too, I had forgotten it wasn’t great. But the xGF in game 1 was only 3.5-3.0. Bounces and refs, along with some media goaltending, made the score what it was

Dobson looks bad here for two reasons. But, before getting into those, it's important to acknowledge that he was recovering from a failed dump in attempt. His skating is exposed here. I said it years ago that he skates as well as Mayfield. The lack of edge control and balance is obvious here and elsewhere. That being said, skating isn't the main reason this play is bad. Only top tier guys could have made a better skating play here. Sean mentions the obvious but Slavin, Heiskenan, they also have tremendous edge control and could have made plays. The real issue here is a mental one. Dobson's true Achilles heel is his defensive mentals. He takes a good dump forgranted and loses awareness of the fact he's the guy supposed to hold back for the stretch pass. He also panics. His default is always to back up because he doesn't trust his own defensive ability. Another consistent problem. These two things are why he is caught and doesn't have time or room to recover and challenge. The bad dump is only a catastrophic error because Dobson gave up on his responsibility and made it catastrophic.
Sean@SperryTime

It’s perfectly acceptable to say it’s unacceptable for Dobson’s skating to be this poor at this juncture of his career. But he is who he is, and expecting a makar level recovery here with his feet is just ridiculous. His teammate flubbed the dump in while he and his partner were going for a change. Thats the root of the issue here

see no the difference is this isn’t just “contact” the goalie is literally holding the player’s leg and dragging him down as he’s trying to LEAVE the crease. like that’s not normal “contact” you can’t fucking do that
Lauren@BOSBruinsHC

okay so some people are mad about this. the point is, expect contact if you set up in the crease. sure, a player is technically allowed to be there, but goalies are also allowed to take up that space. 🤷🏻‍♀️
