@PaulEmbery Softly softly has never worked with policing, you can't crack a nut with a feather. Youths of today have no fear of authority that dresses up for policing duties. They need to be respected, it's won by being principled and unbiased not with dancing and face paint.

Just read on X a pile of old shit from Sky’s alleged political editor @BethRigby in which she trotted out Starmer’s defence that he didn’t know Mandelson had failed his security vetting, That’s not her job. Starmer has comms to do that. Her job, on behalf of viewers/voters is to take Starmer’s story apart. Nobody in their right mind believes Starmer wasn’t party to the cover-up. Just to post crap on X or broadcast it on Sky News is beyond poor. Journalism is about investigation and revelation. Not PR for a lying Prime Minister.

It Starmer believes he inadvertently misled the House of Commons, he should explain on Monday why he didn’t reveal at PMQs on Wednesday that he had discovered on Tuesday evening that Mandelson had failed the security vetting.

IMPORTANT: PMQs Wed 4 Feb Starmer asked 'did the security vetting he received mention Mandelson's relationship with Epstein' Starmer answers: 'yes it did' So Starmer had seen the DV vetting So how can he have been unaware that Mandelson had failed that DV? #receipts

Sources defending Starmer say the difference is that the privileges committee found Boris Johnson *deliberately* misled parliament. Whereas No10 is insisting Starmer did not know about the vetting and therefore inadvertently got it wrong. But Starmer didn’t wait for privileges cttee before demanding Johnson resign.

One of many problems for Starmer is that too many echoes of partygate. A PM who told the Commons, during PMQs, that something didn’t happen. Then we find out it did happen, but the PM says he didn’t know. Under those circumstances, Starmer called for Boris Johnson to resign.

Peter Mandelson reportedly failed security vetting - but decision was overruled by the Foreign Office An investigation by the Guardian found unknown Foreign Official/s overruled UK Security Vetting's recommendation against Mandelson in January itv.com/news/2026-04-1…

Westminster bubble story, no cut through on the doorstep where Starmer polls really well. He's getting on with the job of delivering for the British people, putting country before party and rebuilding the foundations of his number one priority.

Again and again and again! “We will not raise taxes on working people” Yet here we are with taxes increased to the highest peacetime level on record an extra £130billion a year … or £4,500 per household. They lied to gain power 🤡

This is the reason why we can never reform healthcare in the UK — or even have a sensible debate about it. The moment anyone suggests alternative/additional ways of funding health Labour rushes out privatisation smears and claims US private health insurance is being proposed. Labour has been doing it for decades. It explains why the NHS is effectively beyond reform. The two worst health systems in the rich world are in America and the UK. It’s why nobody has ever copied them. It would be mad to go from ours to theirs (or vice versa). But Europe is awash with health systems that can call on several sources of funds, including many with compulsory public health insurance schemes. They have better health outcomes than the NHS. They are free at the point of use (like the NHS). Most of them are better funded. But Labour puts them out of bounds, refuses even to discuss or consider. So patient care suffers. NHS struggles on. Labour is always telling us we need to get closer to Europe. It’s where we belong. But not when it comes to health, where it insists no lessons can be learned. Pretty pathetic, really.
The Labour Party@UKLabour

Nigel Farage's plan to move to an insurance-based healthcare system would leave you to pick up the bill.

@LucyTCWife In Coventry a lot of the longer serving members are stepping down. If you watch the committee meetings you can see why, the newer ones don't know what they're talking about. They can see the writing on the wall and are getting out.

Genuine question. Those that don’t see local elections as being important or as important as a GE, why? It’s your local councillor that works for you at local level. Sorts local issues. You are far more likely to get help from a local councillor than your local MP. A councillor is also able to work along side your local MP. Local councillors help with all sorts of local issues from fly tipping to advocating for local families on school issues, health and social care issues to finding funding for local projects A hardworking councillor that does as they should in your local area can be worth their weight in gold.
