Very happy to say I have been promoted to Professor! So if you feel you can't make Prof because you (want to) take maternity leaves, work part-time, do work that's 'too impact-y', 'not Geography enough' (replace with relevant discipline), then know it can happen!

I miss the old Twitter days. Now conspiracy theories are promoted widely it just seems to best represent division and delusion over reality. I’ll stick around for a while, but I now have a Threads though I don’t know how to use it. I’m “drgeography” on that. Here’s a UK pub:

PhDone!! On June 29th, 2023, I defended my thesis. A massive thank you to my supervisors and paranymphs! 🎓 And... I'll be starting an exciting new chapter as a postdoc at Utrecht University! My focus will be on public engagement with climate science. Look forward to it!! 🥳

I’ve been publishing articles for over a decade now. I shouldn’t feel the need to check the submission portal 8 times a day, but here we are. In other news, we’re at the “required reviews completed” stage (again)!

An article I resubmitted in late April had its status updated a few days later to “required reviews completed”. Not budging from that position the last 6 weeks, I’ve been eager to hear of its acceptance. Today, new status update: “under review” We not go live to me at my desk:
