@MichaelAnderzyn I honestly feel that if we made all these signings and it wasn’t codi ceci people would generally be happy with the offseason. Disappointed we didn’t get a big name, but overall not bad

Comparable metrics to Gavrikov (obviously a downgrade still)… but this is why I’m high on this signing. Despite his age, he’s a great stabilizer on the left side (particularly for Clarke) and he has solid puck moving ability as well. He is tall, disciplined and battle tested. #GoKingsGo

@RYGRAAL @TheBannermenPod Yeah exactly. At this point, it’s not even about the crazy amount of money they’re taking up, its roster spots too. They’re locked up for a few years too so this is the D core for the next 2 years minimum baring any drastic changes

Holland made it clear, Spence wants to be in the lineup every night. Said everything but Spence asked for a trade. Certainly doesn't sound like there's room for him in LA. Not surprising. Kings like the player. But Clarke and Doughty are ahead of him. Just a fit thing.

I’m just saying that if Marner wasn’t in Toronto, this narrative around him wouldn’t exist. I love Carter and I think Marner could be exactly to this team what Carter was to the 2012/14 kings

@1KMoorezy @NHLRussell @ByfieldForHart Crazy that I would have to defend Carter to a Kings fan. He had a GWG in OT of the SCF and put the team on his back in game 2 vs Chi in ‘14. Without him there are no banners. He rose to the occasion when it mattered most. Marner can only dream of what JC did in the postseason.

The Mitch Marner discourse is interesting. Some fans would go all in on the player and others want nothing to do with him. Marner is 28 with 741 points in 657 career games. @AFPAnalytics projects his next contract around $13 million a year. Would you sign him?

Marner is a better player than Carter, he has 110 less points in 664 less games as a selke candidate and is exactly what the kings need: offensive dynamo righty winger who changes their entire scheme

@1KMoorezy @NHLRussell @ByfieldForHart That’s fair although Carter was also part of Philly’s magical playoff run in 2010. He was exactly what the offensively challenged 2012 Kings needed as all the other parts were already in place. I just don’t see MM being the one to push this Kings team over the top.

@kingsfansince71 @NHLRussell @ByfieldForHart Jeff Carter wasn’t some crazy tough guy that seemed like he hated losing, he actually got the reputation of being soft and a quitter in CBJ. But he was superbly talented and came into a situation with players and staff who brought that out of him, same could be said for Marner

Putting together a roster of players who won elsewhere and absolutely loathed losing more than anything else. It matters. I’ll take a couple of Brad Marchands over Mitch Marner any day of the week.
