Since I was 18 my stepdad refused to drink New Years Eve just in case me, my sister, or his son couldn'tget home and needed a lift. I'm 47 now and he's still "on call" tomorrow night - this time for his grandchildren. No one has ever called but he'll still wait up just in case 🥹

I know teachers who: - Have stopped drinking water during the day because the staff toilet next to them has been broken for months. - who have an hour added to their morning routine because all but one photocopiers are broken. - are struggling to manage because most Support Staff cut. The lack of funding is sending workloads sky high and making the average day gruelling. Education is running on empty. It needs correcting at the budget.

I think the call for more male teachers in a predominantly female work environment, comes for the need for more positive male role models for young children, both girls and boys

Also a big reason to say something if you see something you love, it may just make someone’s day! Spread positivity!

/2 effortless and I know how important it is for my children, they run towards me smiling every morning and I know they are happy at school! It’s a good start to the day for us all, every day, however being noticed by another professional made my day! ☺️

An external professional visited my school today. She made a point of coming over to me and acknowledging how nice my morning greeting was, standing at the door, smiling and saying Good Morning to every single one of my children. To me that is so genuine and /1

Think about the half term in its entirety and then consider which children have, perhaps even under the radar, slogged it every day. Come to school, been respectful, done their work, made progress at their level. Now ring their home and tell their family before the holidays.

WHY ARE WE STRIKING? (A POETIC THREAD) We’re striking for the child who’s in the wrong place, Needs specialist provision, but they ain’t got the space. For the child who’s behind and suffers with stress, We’d offer them more, but we’re offering them less. (1/9)

Being a teacher is like having 30 phones ringing, all at the same time. Unless you've done it, you'll never really understand how difficult it can be.
