Operating at the European Gaza Hospital. We have been asked to perform orthoplastic surgery, essentially “life or limb”, on three patients requiring bilateral amputations. Sadly one patient with massive blast injuries died on the operating table. #ICRC

We managed to get to the European Gaza Hospital in Khan Younis to look at the facilities and formulate a plan. Whilst chatting with locals about football you could hear the bullets and see smoke rising from an explosion ~200m from the compound wall.

Yesterday we made our way to @ICRC HQ and spent the night(15 people per room) at our designated safe house.

The @ICRC team were granted permission to cross Sinai yesterday to overnight in Arish. This morning they received the green light to make their way to the border passing queuing aid trucks on their way.
