Yes. Holyrood and the presiding officer should keep it as simple as possible and ask for respectful discussions in the chamber. That should not require pre-emptive threats. Of course, being wilfully rude will need dealt with. Again I lose confidence in the calibre of our MSPs.

A day ago I was praising Kenny Gibson's appointment as Presiding Officer in the Scottish Parliament. He was a surprise appointment - and five minutes in he shows improper and possibly unlawful bias. Sold his soul to gain power. Beyond disappointing.

You can see it already in the enormous care being taken in the media about how to refer to some members of this group in the third person, in the Parliament website listing someone male as a woman. How did NHS Fife end up doing what it did? Observe, and wonder no more.

The new male Green MSP who says he's a woman is listed as "female" on the online MSP look-up. Where else is that happening? We do NOT have self-id in this country. It terribly misleads constituents who may need female representation. @POScotParl sort this out. He's a man.
