This not only throws Scottish Government inertia into sharp relief, it also raises serious questions about the failure of Ministers to extend the same sort of protections afforded to police officers to SPS officers.

This is good news. Statistics should always be based on facts. This will keep people safe and enable proper planning across public sector services.

Police Scotland has published an update on its sex and gender review, confirming it will record biological sex and transgender status across key categories. It also confirms that its previous staff policy (based on self-id) has been withdrawn. spa.police.uk/spa-media/0p3a…

@LibVoice4Women That speech was shocking. She appeared to call for you to be more viciously harassed, as argument, criticism and ridicule had failed to stop you or force you out of the party. What a disgrace.

Prue goes onto admit we have had a campaign of harassment and victimisation against us. She says we have been 'impervious to argument, to criticism and even to ridicule.' Prue is a senior Lib Dem councillor who stood to be Party President last year. Shocking. Impervious sounds like we are made of stone. Many in @LibVoice4Women have been deeply affected by the abuse and complaints directed against us. We have had to be resilient against an absolute torrent of cruel and vindictive trolling and 'stoicism' has become our watchword. Many of us have leant on each other at various times and we are as an institution resilient in order to stand up to the bullies and have had to develop thick skins personally. And we have done this because we think women's rights, child safeguarding reason, free speech and the truth are worth standing up for. My lovely mum with her dad in her Arbroath garden, 1952. By the time she came along he’d already lived a fair bit of life and was a widower. An older Arbroath world. Funny how much he looks like my brother. Beautiful. Happy Mother’s Day, Mum.

Today we salute all the lesbian mothers who had their children forcibly removed by the state because their mothers were simply same-sex attracted. Not bad, wicked, evil or abusive, just because they were regarded as loving the wrong sex - this state apology is long overdue.
