1/5 The most successful people often focus on upgrading their software while their physical hardware is decaying. They invest in strategy retreats and high level coaching but ignore the biological engine responsible for every thought. If you are neglecting low intensity movement, your brain is physically losing volume. You are sabotaging the very hardware required for elite decision quality.

Aerobic exercise can increase hippocampal volume by two percent in one year. If you have time for a strategy meeting but no time for your biology, your priorities are inverted. Here is why your aerobic base dictates your decision quality. @hritikchhabra/note/p-192722142?utm_source=notes-share-action&r=7a43sk" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">substack.com/@hritikchhabra

5/5 The implementation is the Talk Test. Move at a pace where you can hold a coherent professional conversation but would rather not. If you have time for a sixty minute strategy meeting but no time for your biological foundation, your priorities are inverted. Build a more resilient brain or accept that you will eventually be outpaced by someone who did.

4/5 This also builds mitochondrial density. By training your body to burn fat for fuel, you give your brain a twelve hour uninterruptible power supply. While others are reacting to glucose crashes and lactate induced fog, your physiology remains optimized for analytical reasoning. You become the most resilient person in the room because your biology allows you to stay there.

The mechanics of the scroll are identical to a casino floor. Every time you flick your thumb, you are pulling the lever on a slot machine. You might get a profound insight, or you might get a video of someone making a sandwich. That uncertainty is exactly what keeps the dopamine flowing.

Hi, I write about history and psychology and try to understand the psychology of people at a particular point in history. Give it a read. If you like, do follow. @hritikchhabra/note/p-191246248?r=7a43sk&utm_medium=ios&utm_source=notes-share-action" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">substack.com/@hritikchhabra

In a conversation, you have the safety net of body language, tone, and the ability to backtrack. On the page, you are static. You have committed to a thought, stripped away the social armor, and left it there to be dissected. It feels like a blood sacrifice because you are offering up your private logic, the parts of you that usually stay safely tucked behind your eyes, and inviting a stranger to judge whether it has any value.

There is a strange social pressure to be the same version of myself every single day. If I change my mind, my style, or my goals, it’s often treated as a "phase" or a betrayal of my "true self." I’ve realized that I don't owe anyone a consistent performance. My only obligation is to be honest with where I am right now, even if that version of me doesn't align with the sketch they drew of me three years ago

@sahandy89 The most dangerous part of this dynamic is that the very tools used to stop a "rational" opponent actually feed the "irrational" one.

@99Majik A lot of the trouble in life comes from unnecessary interactions. When you are out in the world, you are exposed to the moods, the dramas, and the projections of everyone you meet.

@lolnvmtho We are highly sensitive to the mirrors we surround ourselves with. If a friend consistently reflects a distorted or diminished version of you, that perception becomes a form of psychological gravity

A friend who was once a partner knows your history in a way that few others do. There is a deep, shared context that can be incredibly valuable if handled with care. However, that history can also be a weapon. The friendship only works if both people agree to leave the past where it belongs and focus on the person the other has become today.
