Do not stop talking about Iran. This is what is happening right now. Taha Soleimani, a 19-year-old young man, disappeared on Friday, January 9. Twenty days later on January 29, his body was returned to his family from Kahrizak, bearing clear signs of torture. Taha was buried in Behesht Zahra Cemetery. His family clapped as they laid him to rest, not in celebration, but in defiance, in grief, in rage. This is #IranMassacre today.

Just spoke with a guy who owns a small business. Complaining about the fact that that he pays his employees $18-20hr (minimum) but the people who hire illegal aliens pay them $6.50 an hour and hurt his business. Many of the people threatening law enforcement and interfering with deportations are just mad that this system is coming to an end.

I grew up in Iran at the height of oppression. My world was ruled by fear, censorship, and silence. @jk_rowling books showed me a universe where courage beat fear. That kind of storytelling saves minds and lives in ways people in free countries rarely understand.

What you don’t understand about these protests is this: Iranians of EVERY generation are risking it all for freedom. Teenagers who have never known life outside the Islamic Regime. Parents whose childhoods were violently stolen in 1979. Grandparents who still remember the golden age of Iran before Islamofascism. This isn’t a phase. For reference, 48 hours ago, @PahlaviReza issued a directive to take to the streets today at 8pm (it’s now around 11pm). The video was viewed almost 90 million times. The population of Iran is about 90 million. They heard his word and poured into the streets, unafraid. To everybody that said the people of Iran don’t want regime change—echoing the regime’s propaganda that this was American imperialism or a “Zionist psy-op”—it’s time to disappear into the bushes like Homer. The Iranian people have trampled every lie under foot. They are coming for the terrorists. Stand back. It’s go time.
