Sold my grail card for $25,000 a few weeks ago. Had this card since 2021! I actually traded up to this card with only two trades! In totality the total amount I put in to get this card was ~$5,000. It stings a little to have sold this but I cherish the memories more. I got the card at a time when I thought I could never get this and now I’m confident if I ever want this card I can snag it at any given moment. I’m all about collecting memories!

I Opened A $32,000 Yugioh Card From Yugioh’s 1st Pack!

Want to know what’s a real shame? That people in Pokémon TCG community will express frustration and fight at not getting products for new sets but can’t be content with what they already have. People have forgotten that this is a luxury and not a need like food, water, or shelter. People have this desire to rip packs… to scratch that gambling itch when gambling addiction is at its highest right now.

This doesn’t hurt the hobby at all. You know what every creator who is in the hobby had to experience? They had to lose way more money in the process to produce the FREE and ENTERTAINING content for people to watch. Putting @PatFlynn @MYSTIC7 and others had to put in work. Even after their channels become monetized it’s still not enough to justify the spend. To add people like to complain when the hobby is hot and but when the hobby is cold and views are down then content creators aren’t the problem then. Lastly, people like yourself point fingers at scalpers and even creators when it’s Pokémon that should be printing to demand.

This might be a hot take, but this type of content has hurt the hobby more than scalpers, crypto bros, sports collectors, and even LP has ever done. Everybody and there momma wants to open 100s of packs on video and try to monetize the hobby because YT makes it seem easy. This type of content is what convinces so many people to just pay the mark ups and scalper prices because they need the content and the cards the thumbnails said was $100s.
