Building the tools to build the product, then open-sourcing both.
This is how quality infrastructure happens.
But payment flows get complex fast: wallet state, transaction building, signature relay, error handling, race conditions, network failures.
Trident helps test this.
Built for complex Solana instruction sequences with property-based validation.
Define invariants that must hold (no double-spends, balances reconcile, atomic state transitions), then generate thousands of instruction combinations trying to break them.
Unit tests cover happy paths.
Integration tests cover known scenarios.
Fuzzing discovers the weird state transitions you didn't manually test.
The race conditions.
The edge cases that only surface when users interact unexpectedly.
Flow-based sequences let you systematically test wallet connection, payment initiation, and settlement interactions.
This is how we find high-severity bugs in production protocols during audits.
One missed edge case in a payment flow at scale becomes exploitable.
Better to find it in fuzzing than production.
Excited to see what gets built with Commerce Kit.
The foundational work matters.

1/ I joined @SolanaFndn a few months ago as a product engineer to help build open source products that can further adoption of the ecosystem. I wanted to help devs learn and build things they love. IMO, building full products puts us in a unique position to make a difference.

most people today hold a curious implicit view that that money doesn't imply brains whatsoever
in fact, the opposite!
in their view, getting rich is about exploitation, luck, and being stupid with risk
not sure how this happened but society now views being "not rich" (poor, or even just normal) as more virtuous than being rich
as if the absence of money is evidence of purity
this might be largely driven by the amount of idiots that got rich in crypto for simply being early or the amount of criminals that got rich from crypto
but this is imo one of the worst and most dangerous developments happening right now because it ignores the median case for the extreme, it is a textbook epistemic reasoning error
while luck and exploitation no doubt play a role, markets remain one of humanities' least worst ways of keeping score
not making money is not a virtue
refusing to learn or attempt to create value in a way that doesn’t compromise your principles is not a virtue either
