Though this seems to have been a strategic failure for the US, we need to understand that this ceasefire is temporary… However, I think this ceasefire goes beyond just an end to hostilities, frankly because I don’t think Iran would have agreed to it if it didn’t entail some permanent guarantees… It is clear that we cannot go back to the pre-war status quo… so I think this ceasefire could have been a pretext to something much bigger and comprehensive between Iran and the US… one that could entail the lifting of sanctions and more moving forward…
