@200Tabs1Brain @sandeep_PT As a taxpaying citizen, I also see this as a fantastic opportunity to empower unemployed professionals & grads to create a base for a somewhat de-globalized Indian economy, use the size of population as your market, build your own infra etc..change the political dialogs.

No Indian business house ever took Tech R&D seriously, and whenever (rarely) they tried to build, the cold truth of immense risk and years of patient burn struck them in the face, and they instantly pivoted to known profitable businesses, i.e. infra and physical stacks. That is why India has no real (big) tech visionary at all. That is why we were, are, and will remain America's digital colony. A blast from the past. An Indian LLM. @arj1989 @sandeep_PT Please don't talk bs on unrelated things, I want robots cooking my meals and doing daily chores. There are lot's of old age people who get befitted from this.

@200Tabs1Brain @sandeep_PT Well, again, that's my point we should not rely on global models. 5 yrs down the line, I don't want a robot cooking my favorite breakfast dish at my local from a recipe fed into it by someoone sitting on the west coast of America. Data sovereignty is what will keep us Indian.

@arj1989 @sandeep_PT There are no custom solutions in future. Countries are trying to build llm models that will eventually solve almost every type of problem. Already looks like USA won't share model like mythos because it's too powerful.

@200Tabs1Brain @sandeep_PT That's exactly my point. At present any AI tool that is being used is mostly global. For local AI to blossom, we need to document and channel solutions to problems unique to us. We are nowhere near the infra or digital sovereignty to assure it....

@sandeep_PT Well TBH, AI in India should only be used as strategic tool. We are blessed with a young population which is a massive advantage. As an Engineer I am keeping my eye on the quality & variety of solutions to solve a problem offered by AI vs a diverse billion unique brains.

Today is the first push day for me by claude.

We mishandled drone tech, We mishandled fighter jet engine tech, We mishandled lithium battery tech, We mishandled it tech, We mishandled ai tech. I am pretty sure we will mishandle futures ones too as long as those politicians currently in-charge and the ones in background (corporates) continue to influence things.
