Fwiw, of all VCs I’ve ever talked to:
Mantis (The Chainsmokers) asked us some of the most intelligent questions, clear knowledge/research of our space
Easily top 1-2% diligence rigor. You’d be shocked how many VCs do basically zero
Alex & Drew are formidably sharp

lol this is funny. I just want to say a couple of things and then I’m done with this convo. First off this was a small personal check from us outside of Mantis. We do not do consumer via our fund but personally we can invest in anything we want to support.

It's difficult to communicate just how much work building something new is You have to want it pretty badly. Skipped parties, derailed up vacations, etc It's worth it if you want it but you gotta want it (bad)

The two mods for me are, exercise and kids
I pretty much do nothing but work, workout, and spend time with wife/daughter
It is insanely dope and very few understand it (“why won’t you come hang tonight man??”)

You need to also want it for the mission and purpose and not materialism/ validation from others
It’s a calling that chose you, and you feel forced to choose it
The thought of not achieving it hurts worse than the work it takes
