Today I was represented at the official launch of the SheTrades Zimbabwe Hub, a powerful platform designed to connect women-led businesses to global markets, finance, and technical support.
I am proud to support an initiative that empowers women to grow from small enterprises into competitive exporters, creating jobs and strengthening our economy.
This Hub opens doors to opportunity, knowledge, and international trade networks, ensuring that no woman is left behind in our journey toward inclusive economic transformation.
I remain committed to championing programmes that uplift women and strengthen families, because when women thrive, nations prosper.

While the country remains engaged in heightened awareness and debate around the Constitution Amendment Bill No. 3, it is equally important to recognize the visible development unfolding across the nation. Our support for Amendment Bill No. 3 is grounded in the need to sustain this momentum creating a stable governance framework that allows long-term projects to reach full maturity and deliver maximum impact.
We support the Amendment Bill No. 3 because it prioritizes development by creating continuity in governance and reducing disruptions caused by frequent electoral cycles. By setting aside elections in the short term, the nation can redirect critical financial resources often consumed by election processes towards national development priorities such as infrastructure, housing, health, and education. This ensures that public funds are channeled where they are most urgently needed: improving the livelihoods of citizens.
The proposal to extend the development timeline by an additional two years is therefore a progressive and pragmatic step. It provides stability, strengthens policy implementation, and ensures that ongoing projects are completed efficiently for the benefit of all Zimbabweans. Across sectors, government institutions are already demonstrating commitment through tangible, people-centred results.
A clear example of this progress is the Mbizi Residential Project in Mvurwi 🏡, which stands as a testament to strategic collaboration and forward-looking development.
As Government, we continue to prioritize sustainable, inclusive, and well-planned housing delivery:
The partnership between Mvurwi Town Council and private developers is commendable, driving the provision of affordable housing.
The project will deliver over 560 serviced, title-surveyed residential stands, ensuring security of tenure and promoting orderly urban growth.
Infrastructure Development Progress 🚧💧
Over 11km of water reticulation nearing completion
More than 10km sewer network with capacity for future expansion
Nearly 10km of roads and stormwater drainage systems developed
A 3km trunk sewer line set to unlock over 2,000 additional stands
The project is now at 95% completion on water and sewer infrastructure, moving steadily toward full delivery.
Strategic Alignment & Sustainability 🌱
Fully aligned with National Development Strategy 2, contributing to the national goal of delivering 1 million housing units by 2030
Promotes modern, planned, and serviced settlements in line with national housing policy
Developed with approved environmental impact assessments, ensuring environmental sustainability
Inclusive Housing Allocation
60% – General Public
20% – War Veterans
10% – Civil Servants
5% – Women
5% – Youth
Beyond housing, the project includes schools, recreational facilities, commercial spaces, and essential community amenities laying the foundation for integrated, thriving communities.
Importantly, this initiative is creating jobs, stimulating local economic growth, and unlocking opportunities for the people of Mvurwi and surrounding areas.
As constitutional discussions continue, projects like Mbizi highlight a key reality: development is not theoretical—it is visible, measurable, and ongoing. Supporting Amendment Bill No. 3 is therefore about safeguarding this progress, ensuring continuity in governance, and directing national focus and resources toward development. It is a commitment to finishing what has been started and building a prosperous, inclusive future for all.
