I won’t pretend to be an engineer or take any of the glory from the badass team here at 1X that has been turning raw earth into robots since I was in high school... But I will give tremendous credit to my team for the work they do in designing this universe— from film/ sound design, to industrial design, designing and building websites, to writing endless copy, to partnering with the manufacturing team to design/build a craftsmanship check facility that is straight out of a movie (that we shot ourselves) and tell the story of some of the best engineers on earth who turn raw materials to robots. Some of the best creatives on earth. I am so damn grateful.

Today we're excited to announce NO_FLICKER mode for Claude Code in the terminal It uses an experimental new renderer that we're excited about. The renderer is early and has tradeoffs, but already we've found that most internal users prefer it over the old renderer. It also supports mouse events (yes, in a terminal). Doubling down on this: the recent wave of AI design tools has done more harm than good. None of them work with real code. Using AI to create yet another layer of abstraction is exactly the wrong move. Design is code, and code is design. And you should care about interactions.

In a few days, we’re shipping something at @MagicPathAI that makes the dream of designing in code with perfect handoff, especially for large teams, finally real. I’ve been in this field for 20 years, and early in my career this would have felt like an ontological shock.
