पिछले साल केदारनाथ गया था। शाम 5 बजे ट्रैक शुरू किया भोर से पहले 3:30 बजे मंदिर पहुंचा। सपना था माँ को वहां ले जाने का, लेकिन उनकी यादों को साथ लेकर बाबा के धाम पहुंचा था। जब भी वो पल याद आता है, तो शरीर अपने आप चल उठता है। 22 किलोमीटर जिन पैरों के दम पर चढ़ाई की, आज ऑपरेशन के बाद चार दिन से उन्हें अपने स्थान से हिलाने में भी संघर्ष करना पड़ रहा है। केदार बाबा जल्दी ठीक कीजिए, ताकि फिर बैग पैक करूं और जल्द मिलूं आपसे। 🙏🏻🔱

Some said it was open, some said it snowed too much & was inaccessible. No social media to verify. The snows had come in early that year. We were among the last people in town before the doors would be shut for winter.
The crunch of snow beneath my feet, the silence & the sounds of bell ringing in the valley truly felt like a place in god's lap back then.
An old woman at Devaprayag who came to know we were heading to Kedarnath, handed over Rs. 500 to us, complete strangers, to do prayers at the temple in her name. Travel back then was difficult, but different.

For those who do not know, in the early 1900s, the British-run Howrah Municipality refused to give Belur Math a proper water connection, viewing the monks as potentially rebellious.
Instead of pleading, the monks designed & built their own gravity-based filtration system using layers of sand, charcoal, & stones.
The water they produced was purer than the municipal supply. British officials who visited were stunned to find that a group of monks had engineered a superior water treatment plant with ZERO external support.
