A 17-year-old teenager named Carson Ryan was shot and killed on a squirrel-hunting trip in Iowa, U.S. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says one of the hunters in his group mistook him for a squirrel and fired, striking him in the back of the head. The shooting occurred around 3 p.m. local time during the afternoon hunt. Carson Ryan was transported to the University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. Investigations are underway by both the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
