LNER’s InterCity 225s resume regular services to Newcastle next week, with one return journey every afternoon from King’s Cross. They will be the first 225s in revenue service north of York since 24 September 2020. Head to 225.org.uk/diagrams-lner-… for the times and details.

LNER 91105 prepares to push Sunday March 8’s 1731 York-London King’s Cross. Since December’s timetable change, Class 91s have been rarely seen in daylight at York.

Three years ago today, when you could regularly see three InterCity 225 sets at King's Cross at the same time! Among them, the stunning 91110 and 91111.

25 years ago the unthinkable happened at Heck. Steve Dunn Freightliner, GNER colleagues John Weddle, Ray Robson, Paul Taylor and 6 passenger lost their lives on the fateful day. Always remembered and never forgotten.
